In SL they receive the full cap amount in their competition and Sky payments, though clearly we don't.

Championship clubs can spend right up to the SL cap level, which is £1.8m.
However, they are still restricted by the 50% of 'relevant club income' stipulation, which would mean that if Leigh wanted to spend up to the SL cap level, their club relevant income would need to be £3.6m.

I know Del boy has deep pockets, but he'd be absolutely mental to plough that much into the club in one season imo.

Hopefully we are generating money from sponsorship and through the 'gate' - when we get a home match, that is! (five of our final seven matches, after today, are at home - so, if you bring about 6,000 to LSV, that would help our 'relevant club income' a lot!

Slightly O/T but watching Saints last night, and seeing rumours of Anderson handing in his resignation and the state Leeds are in, one of the best signings this club has made is Rohan Smith. There just aren't any decent coaches out there at the moment.

I don't discount the chance of Smith having a scrum half lined up. Just because we have signed Moss doesn't mean that is it. Moss will have been the first simply because his British passport meant he could sign the contract in the morning and board the plane before the ink dried. We may have a couple lined up but it takes about 3-4 weeks for the paperwork as it did with Smith. We may be in for Leon but I would be surprised if Smith plans to build his team around him over the next three seasons that he has signed for. I expect him to bring in another surprise youngster who fancies joining Smith again. Well, I hope there is. My hope is that he puts together a group of young players who will grow together such as Deacs, Peacock, Fielden, Langers and Robbie did.

The signing of Adam O'Brien and hopefully James Clare say we can build a team long term. Rohan Smith seems to have one hell of a reputatation down under. Hopefully that will give us an advantage trying to sign some young players from down under.

According to League weekly today Gaskell is down to sign for Huddersfield for next season. I believe if he was playing yesterday we would have taken the two points. He seems to be the only player we have with the ability to unlock the opposition defence when we are in their 20. GET US A SCRUM HALF!!!!

Someone on Bulls Banter was quoting Green as saying Gaskell is out for 12 weeks.

If that is true and he's leaving at the end of the season, then its doubtful we'll ever see him in a Bulls shirt again.

I wish that people would realise that it really is not as simplistic as this. He may well know the players, yes, but with the RL overseas rules here, and the high likelihood that they would struggle to meet the criteria required to secure a visa, then we could be somewhat snookered.

He is a waste of a wage. He plays nowhere near the amount of games to justify the wage he is earning and it could be better used elsewhere.

Over the moon with Clare. That's a brilliant re-signing. Caro i'm OK with. Hasn't been brilliant last couple of weeks, but there's about a dozen others i would release before him.

Pace to burn but seems to lack confidence to take anyone on down the flank and his defence needs a lot of work IMO.

Decent Championship player, but if we ever got into Super League, I'm not so sure I'd want him staying.

That incident where Caro had the chance to go in the corner but stopped summed him up for me. He's not incisive enough. He's big but lacks the aggression to make the most of it. He's quick but takes a long distance to get up to speed. He's ok at championship level but I think Clare and Williams offer more.

Caro is a good resigning - as long as it's at the right price.

Good calls both imo.

Caro gets a bit of stick, sometimes justified, but he does a lot of good things too and he's got some pace to burn which is always a crowd pleaser.

Clare is a solid and versatile back and well worth his corn as far as I'm concerned.
