| Quote ="dddooommm"I'd like to think that some of the fans that haven't attended in a few years will be back again for the Halifax game. The atmosphere yesterday was incredible and if the club keep the prices down I'm sure we could attract 7000+. Leeds did their part yesterday by bringing a good away following. Halifax won't bring anywhere near that number unfortunately.'"
I think Halifax will bring a decent following. Not so long ago, they had good followings for Good Friday matches against us. Remember it's a massive game for them as well - a good chance to get to a Cup Semi-Final!
The key thing is to pitch the prices right, Halifax fans are notoriously obsessed with Odsal prices

Well admittedly we will need a few things in our favour regarding the day/weather and time but I don't see why we can't aim high. I was told we wouldn't get 10k for Leeds by some fans. Now admittedly Leeds brought a decent following but I would estimate the split to be around 6-7k Bulls and about 3.5k Leeds. So I.think it's achievable if marketed.
Get into schools and make let's get kids in for nowt and make it a real family event. We have to seize on good publicity opportunities like this.

| I look forward to the cascade of whining emanating from Calderdale, from their greatest humorists, featuring such golden oldies as '[ithe dulls[/i' and '[iodslum[/i'. All done while keeping those chips firmly upon their shoulders.
In fact, they have just tweeted about the draw with their new hashtag: #BeatBulls
Where could they have got that from recently?
Nevertheless, a draw which will ensure a Championship team in the last 8. And hopefully a 7k+ crowd too.

| First thing I thought of was try and beat Fax and then get another big pay day in the semi. Then get in the top 5 and to Wembley with the other cup comp then spend some money on getting Ryan Atkins in our left centre position when he leave Wire this year as he was very good today. It is all about getting money in right now so Kear can bring in a few quality players for a real push for promotion next year and the next.

| From this stage, prize money starts to rise iirc. A losing quarter finalist gets £20-30k I think. Losing in the last round only got you £6-7k

| It's a tad unfortunate from the repetition point of view, but is ideal in every other respect. Whoever wins it means there is a championship club in the semis and Fax will definitely, and quite rightly, fancy their chances as it's 'winnable' for both sides. Bring it on!

| Here are the Challenge Cup and 1895 Cup arrangements for the Bulls and Halifax (taken from the T&A website):
[iThe Rugby Football League have confirmed the implications of the progress made by Bulls and Halifax in the Coral Challenge Cup on the arrangements for the 1895 Cup.
The new knockout competition for Championship and League One clubs will culminate in a Wembley final on Saturday, August 24 - the same venue and day as the Challenge Cup showpiece.
Bulls and Halifax will play their Challenge Cup quarter-final on Sunday, June 2 before both clubs will compete in their second-round 1895 Cup ties – Bradford at Barrow Raiders, and Halifax at home to Sheffield Eagles – on the Wednesday following the last-eight clash (June 5).
If either Bradford or Halifax reach the semi-finals of both the Challenge Cup and the 1895 Cup, which are scheduled for consecutive days on July 27 and 28, their 1895 Cup semi-final will be put back to the following Wednesday, July 31 – providing a second chance to reach Wembley if they lose the Challenge Cup semi-final.
If Bradford or Halifax become the first lower division team to reach the Challenge Cup final in the competition’s 123-year history, their place in the second 1895 Cup semi-final will be taken by the losers of the first semi-final.[/i

| Am I reading that right?. So if either us or fax reach final our place in 1895 semifinal is taken by team that loses the other semifinal giving them a second chance? Presumably the second semi would be played a week later and they wouldn’t be expected to play two games in quick succession?.

| It appears so. Perhaps JK may opt into taking the reserve team up to Barrow for the 1895 Cup game as we will have 3 games in the space of a week:
Sunday 2nd June - Halifax at home - CC
Wednesday 5th June - Barrow away - 1895 Cup
Sunday 9th June - Batley at home - League

| To be fair, they need to have and announce a contingency plan, shoite though it is, but in reality the QF is most certainly journey’s end for either.

Thats how it reads, meaning Mick Gs post on Sunday about 'just getting off the phone to the RFL' and 'a team getting a bye to the final of the 1895 cup if us or Fax made it to the CC final' was yet again a load of garbage.

Yet another factual inaccuracy from someone with a bitter agenda.
I spoke with both Ralph and Andy Wilson and never reported what you claim in the above.

| For the avoidance of doubt for those sad trolls on here:
The following was tweeted after speaking to Andy Wilson.
Just spoken to the RFL regarding the situation for Bradford and Halifax in the Challenge Cup/1895 Cup and should they be involved in both competitions at the SF stage, they will play in the CC SF on the Saturday and in the 1895 SF on the Wednesday. Two chances to get to Wembley.

After yesterday's result, the 1895 Cup second round tie between Barrow and Bradford will now be played on either Tuesday 4th or Wednesday 5th of June at Craven Park - between the Challenge Cup QF game and the Championship game with Batley at Odsal on Sunday 9th June.
If Bradford or Halifax are in the Challenge Cup Final, then although nothing has been confirmed at this stage, but it is understood the 1985 Cup semi-final opponent will get a bye through to Wembley.
The bit in bold is the garbage that u posted.

I think if either Halifax or ourselves happen to win BOTH semi finals (extremely unlikely) then another team would take our place in the 1985 cup final. I think that might be what Mick is trying to say.

Id imagine team selection for both teams for the 1895 cup will very much depend on who wins the semi as the 1895 is still realistically both clubs best chance of getting to wembley but a semi final CC game is going to make a lot more money for the clubs than any Wembley appearence in the 1895 will. Luckily both teams do have quite large squads so both should manage.
