This is laughable. You didn't just play them when you couldn't raise a team. You chose to play them pretty much whenever they were available.

Towards the end of last season there were a couple of occasions when Fev only named a 14-man squad, because we literally had no other players available. If what you are saying about not being able to field 17 players was true, that would have happened with Bradford in 2017 when the loan/DR players were unavailable, but it didn't. In fact, the week after you played Fev in the Challenge Cup with no loan/DR players, you played Dewsbury and immediately slotted five loan guys back into your team.

D/Rs a a farce. Bringing one player like Brad Singleton for one game not to be seen again all year is a farce. Its hinders player development as with Jordan Lilley.

I personally don't think it helps teams like Fev either.

Because it's annoying when fans of teams who have used DR themselves ( or widespread loans) somehow try to defend their own usage whilst attacking another teams' usage.

I don't especially disagree with anyone saying DR is a farce btw, or with your comments about Singleton. If DR gets voted out, that's fine by me. I just don't like the comments about one team's use somehow being more innocent or acceptable than another's.

I don't think The Phantom Horsemen is making a bad point here. There's not a lot of difference between Fev this year especially (after cutting costs massively) and Bradford last year. The comment about running a reserve grade but playing DR players is redundant too, as Bradford last year ran a reserve grade, but in the first team saw the likes of Egodo, Hitchcox, Green, Lilley, Laithwaite & Butler-Fleming picked above those reserves.
Loads of clubs do it. I don't think any club who has used the loan/DR systems can claim to be holier than thou. Personally I agree DR is awful, but equally don't blame clubs like Fev, Sheffield & Leigh for exploiting it if it's there and they can get some quality in their side that they'd otherwise be lacking.

I take more issue with people like Lee Greenwood at Dewsbury. Outspoken about how he doesn't like DR, but then massively overuses the loan market meaning their team regularly has 3, 4 or 5 loan players in the side. He's using semantics of the differences between DR and loans to be a massive hypocrite.

I think you have gotten confused, The discussion was about duel reg players not loans. All the players u listed were loans not DR. And while u were trying to be a smart a**s you missed off Jonny Pownall

quite - when Dewsbury beat Fev at our place, they played two from Wakefield, one from Wigan and one from Hull KR. No complaints from me of course, it's all in the rules, but earlier in the year various Dewsbury fans had been on our forum mocking us for using other teams' players. As for the comments about DR/loan players being used instead of reserve teams, Chris Annakin played for Dewsbury against Fev then for Wakefield reserves against Fev reserves just over a week later!

People's mood about DR/multiple loans just seems to change depending on whether they need it at that time or not. Even John Kear, who I like a lot, spoke out against DR lately, yet he was more than happy to use it when he was at Batley (including when they beat Fev in a Championship semi final) and of course Batley almost got relegated under Kear's stewardship when they were deducted three points for a breach of the DR rules before they were controversially let off.

What an absolute mess it all is, talk about divide and fall. The SL clubs must be absolutely wetting theirselves at the rest of us. Time to tell 'em where to go but unfortunately some turkeys have already voted for Christmas haven't they?

Semantics to suit your argument. There's very little difference between DR and loan, the team are still playing lads from another club over their own reserves.
I deliberately missed Pownall because I seem to recall he was bad enough that he didn't really take anyone's place apart from a few bench cameos.

Actually, there is a very important difference between a loan and a DR. A loan is a minimum 4 week contract with no recall, where as DRs can pop in and out of either their contracted team or DR team at will.

If Fevs line up is correct, they have Jack Busssey (Prop) at 6, it be pretty shameful if we lose this. Close Boas down and Wacth King when he comes on.

Yep Bussey at 6, Walters, a back row/ middle in the centre, 2 centres on the wings and a wing at full back. On paper it looks a low-scoring game you'd think.

Of course there is a difference, otherwise they'd be called the same thing. But in the sense of other team's players being picked ahead of your own club's reserves, there's absolutely zero difference. I don't understand how one is being vilified and the other totally justified, except of course because of which teams are involved.


One the subject of the match, it doesn't look like Fev need to be all that reliant on DR anyway as they haven't needed it today (and yes, I know there's a couple of the much younger element of the Rhinos squad playing).

Don't think it's anything to do with the teams involved. I think D/R has always been hated on this forum and we were against it when we used it with Widnes. I don't think it's to do with Leeds players being picked ahead of Fevs reserves as I wouldn't expect Fev to run a reserves with the funding they get.
The issue with D/R as others have said is a team can pick the likes of Brad Singleton for one game. It's an integrity issue.

Anyway on the game, sounds like we've been schooled by Fev. The fact they've got a prop at 6 is pretty embarrassing from us. Some harsh words needed.
