I suppose that's one of the problems of having a good side - it's very difficult to break into. I wouldn't like to work out just how many of our academy players had to leave over the years to further their careers but it must be a fairly large figure even if you don't include the recent ones. Mind, I'm sure we've had that thread before....

This is a great example to other clubs and to the Bulls medium term. As proven in the England squad, the city and wider area produces good tough players. Not just a great signing, but intelligent pragmatic think. It tells our youngsters in ALL the local clubs. YOU CAN play for your professional club. Perhaps an attitude that the club has lacked for the last ten years or?
At this level there are lots of tough hard young lads that would cope given the right support and guidance. Well done John Kear.

He is not 29 he is 31 mate. Another thing not checked properly when the Bulls are releasing statements. Kear even said in what was printed in telegraph he was 31. Lack of research on a cracking signing and very poor by the clubs releases again. It's got past being a joke now its extremely annoying

I am not bothered whether the statement said 29 or 31. I stopped worrying about that - in fact, I never did worry about things like that. He is a good signing and it shows that the hybrid system is working for us this year and even next as we are picking up some very good part time players. What a difference to a couple of years ago when we seemed to sign players from YouTube clips. Kear is signing people he knows and that assures me greatly.

Anyone heard what squad number he's getting?
I'm guessing no.16 but there's nothing on the website as yet.

16 been allocated to Dan King by all accounts.

21, 22 or 23 would be the logical assigments, but I suspect you'll have to wait until you see him in the shirt to know for sure. The idiot in charge of the website would probably only get it wrong if he tried to put it on there anyway.

He’s 21

The website is a bit behind at the moment (Dan King isn't even mentioned as being in the squad), though I expect they've been putting more time into sorting out the big website change than the finer points. They do usually mention in the blurb following a signing which number he'll take up in the squad, but it seems to have been missed this time.
