| Hi Errol, I will see you at the Halifax home game under the clock on platform 5, dont wear a red carnation though wear camouflage so FA cannot use his sniper rifle (made in Russia by Szpatizdummioutski) to ensure the crowd is nil.
I blame Jimmy for refusing a SH playing in SL when offered. we would never have been in the position of needing a win at Fev. And I think the consensus, that we have been missing a SH this season, would be with me. if VBFG did a statistical analysis, he would declare the lack of a SH as the most posted comment this season. And probably last.
AATEOTD what is done is done. They are still my team, even if I have not paid £380 and the rest, full credit to FA for that, and being a supporter means through thick and thin, and thinner, and thinnest.

| I don't think the lack of support will affect the players. When they have had big vociferous support as at Fev it had no effect. These guys are professionals and by that they are only in it for the money. They don't give two hoots about the club as most will be off if not this year then next.

Totally agree that whats done is done. Supporters support through thick and thin and believe me I've seen thinner than this.

Of course another dose of administration and they all could be off.'"
Charnock there is talk of us trying to sign permanently, so I can understand playing him.
Howarth I agree I would generally leave out, if Lumb was fit. But he's not and I think two hookers is a better way to go. Until Lumb is back, I think playing Howarth and O'Brien together is fine.
As far as the other comments on the thread go, I personally cannot justify spending the ticket and petrol money on a game that means absolutely nothing. I'll be there at the home games, cheering the team on as normal. If everything doesn't go the wall, I'll be there next season. But trumped up friendlies in Cumbria? Sorry, I can't justify spending money that's tight enough as it is.

And my posts would be top of that list. But you're forgetting that that win would have been just to scrape 4th by the skin of our teeth. You also forget that we beat them as recently as February. With no scrum half.
The unforgiveable lack of a scrum half is a valid reason for not winning the league. It is no excuse at all for a full time team spending up to the cap repeatedly losing key games to part-timers, or getting nilled in the most important game of the season.

I've done around 50 seasons so far, so I don't think I need any lessons in being a supporter, thanks. I did throw away the rose-tinted specs a long time ago, though, and this enables me to see the harsh truths. Those include that we all saw what class of players we did have available, in for example the games against Leigh, all without a scrum half. But the fact is that even though we were almost their equal on the pitch, neverteless they Lost 1 and drew 1 in the league, whereas we Drew 2, and Lost an astonishing and unforgiveable EIGHT. That's what madeus look fools, not the Fev game, that was just a get-out-of-jail card we were fortunate to acquire - but still lost. To NIL. With a scrum half.

Just how I felt for 6 years of meaningless friendlies under licencing , I couldn't even bother with most home games

Good that you agree with me, that a scrum half would have had a significant impact over the season, so we should have been in the top four by the time we got to the Fev game.

| Anyone else looking at the glorious weather outside and thinking how good would it have been watching Bradford/Leeds in front of 10k+ at a sun kissed odsal. Would have sold plenty of beer anyways.
I hope the players hate every second of their trip to Whitehaven tomorrow.

It pains me to say that I don't think for one minute it will bother the players. If it had they would have turned in a top performance at Fev to avoid playing the sides coming up that we face now

| But looking at the Fev - Leeds score puts it into perspective. Would we have been that bad? Or would Leeds have put 60 past us as well?

I dunno.
This team CAN get themselves up when they want to. You'd hope that for a Bradford vs Leeds they could pull their fingers out.
But I guess we'll never know what might have been

| Leeds were too quick.... too strong.
Their fitness held so much stronger than ours.
Given where we were at the bash, to be able to enjoy tody with no real pressure, get a good crowd and make a few bob .... im a contented soul.
Leeds are not this standard.... nowhere near.

I do say so. Ten years of treading water in one place and ten years of constant decline to a similar place are very obviously not the same thing.

In answer to whether we would have done better than Fev, N.B. This is a quote from a Fev fan about the match, similar quotes were posted by us when we played Fev. It's possible that Leeds would have put 100+ on us.

We do agree, but I've been banging the no.7 drum ever since we let Gale go so it's really a case of you now agreeing with me
I still like the sound of Gaskell and Gale at 6 and 7. Mere idle daydreaming now, of course, but with that combination I'd have even felt fairly confident going into the MPG.
