| Quote ="Rarebreed"Well I am so convinced with your arguement that I wonder where the £960k is sitting at this moment, not sure what you mean! Because logicaly the changes only affect Wakefield postionally in the middle 8 matrix, with other teams having to bend their fixtures.Believe me if you compared the matrix it looks highly suspicious to a cynic like what I am.
Are you saying that the RFL agreed that this was changed because of your reasoning?
Perhaps you could mention it to whoever decided to change it, and I suppose Mr Carter never said they were on the financial brink???'"
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Are you saying they changed the grid just to give Wakefield some cash? Why would they do that, they could have just chosen their matches to be televised anyway?

I am wondering why the changes were brought about, if you are a Hull KR or a Bulls supporter, who may have wished for a home fixture which would have brought more revenue into your club. It would also have given your club an advantage over a club that had finished at the bottom of the SL table, whilst your club had been a lot more consistent, and had not stated that they would give up due to it being better to save themselves for the middle 8, so they had a better chance of going back into super league, you may have felt aggrieved.
But personally I have stopped being over awed with the decisions we have to live with, if we follow RL.

| Firstly why do you think it's Wakefield's fault how Super League split up the money?
Second, not supporting your team seems a really bad way to protest against an opposition club.
Third, why do you think the fixtures have changed? As far as I can see we are playing exactly who the RFL said we would play when the grid first came out.
Only the order you play the teams and who was on telly was decided late on.

Well my friend if you read my original , and indeed subsequent threads. Yo may note that I never apportioned blame to Wakefield as I merely stated facts which are irrefutable> Who said I wasn't supporting my team?
Would I lie to you about the fixture change? Other people can confirm this to your satisfaction, no doubt.
And where did I mention the decision to arrange the televised game was either wrong or right?
The information I gave was factual, with a bit of speculation admittedly, but that , in my opinion, didn't detract from the facts, nor was it critical of Wakefield, whatever I think?
You have turned it into something that suits your feelings on the subject, which is OK, but don't attempt to shoot the messenger.

| PopTart the original format has been changed, trust us on this one
Originally the team finishing 2nd in the championship seemed to have the better of the fixtures, which was obviously not right, so the RFL changed it mid season and probably hoped nobody would notice, which is obviously par for the course for them

The title of the thread and comments about Wakefield implied you had issue with Wakefield. If you say not I'm fine with that.
But saying you won't go because you don't want to give money to Wakefield is exactly not supporting your club.
As for the fixtures. Clearly it affected Bradford so you would notice more than me. I was just saying I hadn't seen them change. They don't seem to have for us.
Anyway, let's see how this weekend goes. It would be nice to be watching two teams with 2 points each next week.

| PopTart, the fixtures were changed a few weeks ago. Another endearing moment for the RFL.
I understand the sentiment of the OP however I think his choice of action is maybe not correct. Why not go instead and show a protest banner to make your message?
Your team needs your support so to deny it because you have a dispute with the RFL is penalising an innocent.
I agree the funding for these middle 8 televised matches stinks and is unfair.
The RFL always seems to muddle through at first missing the obvious.
In terms of the 80k put in the pot, just have a look at how many home televised matches Wakey have had on Sky this year. Saints and Wigan spring to mind but I'm struggling to think of many beyond that. Crikey even Warrington get more appearances in a month and they've had a shocker of a season so far.
Come on down to the oldest RL ground in the world on Sunday and support your team. You are all welcome.

| Part of our (Leighs) problem with the Sky funding in the 8's is that logic says 7 weeks and all will get a live tv game 3pm saturday bar Sheffield who have no fans.
So when we get our 2 SL clubs as our first 2 fixtures at home live on Sky it stinks. Saturday crippled us 4500 when sunday would have been closer to 8000, even corporate was shafted as most regulars had booked corporate at Haydock parks big race day months beforehand. Probably cost us £60k we cant afford to throw away

Hi again PT,
May I refute your idea that I won't go to the Wakefield game because I wouldn't want to give money to the club, is ridiculous,to me anyway. I don't ever believe staying away and cutting off your nose to spite your face is the silliest reason to not go to any game!
As for your comment on fixtures, both Hull KR and Bradford are the affected teams, as we both were subjected to a home fixture against team 6 (the 12th Finisher in SL) which was changed to an away fixture. In fact team 6 in every instance was replaced by team 7 (Sheffield). This in no way is any fault of your club? But I asked why, and as supporters shouldn't we have been told by the RFL? If it was a logical reason don't we deserve to be told what it is?
As for the £80k per team, this was never mentioned in the original policy review, and of course the new Sky deal doesn't kick in until 2017, so this £80k either came out of the £300k SL clubs got at the end of 2014, as a parachute payment> but if that was the case why didn't they say so at the time??
My case now rests!

| Regarding the change, it was just poor planning/management by the RFL. However the changes are much fairer as the team that finished first in the championship for 2 SL teams at home to originally having 1. Was just poor planning the RFL were so late in making the changes.
Anywhere which ever teams don't go up, it's because they weren't good enough on the field, not because of the fixtures.

| I'm glad I did boycott and not just because of the rubbish served up on the field.
Being on the receiving end of bottle throwing and racist chanting isn't my idea of fun.
Before people come out with the its a minority of fans line that just lets them off the hook. The Sky cameras picked up the chants as they did when they played cas, as they picked up the saints fans with blood pouring down their faces and the cameras picked up the flares launched onto the field at Cas.
Suspended fines clearly don't work so I'm expecting some action this time.
If they also leave belle Vue for the Tetley's stadium will they be doing building work so that it meets the Superleague criteria? Probably expecting special treatment again from the RFL letting them have special dispensation aa they did with belle che when they first came into superleague.
That would call for an open letter or a dog turd through a letter box of a sanctimonious pratt in sandal!

| I wonder how many of these things you'd have been so up in arms about had you won the game like you all expected to do?
I'm not condoning the behaviour of some of our fans, I'd rather we didn't have them, but all clubs do unfortunately. But there is a distinct case of sour grapes here because we turned up for an important game and your guys didn't.

"I'm not condoning their behaviour but..." . You stay classy! I've emailed Blake Solly and pointed where on the DVD the chanting is clearly heard.
The rest is up to him.

| The problem for Wakey is that the racist chanting just helps to perpetuate the stereotype. With such small crowds surely it must be a priority to deal with it or it will drive decent fans away. I suppose that if money is tight then maybe getting rid of the undesirables would reduce income.
The whole experience is pretty grim at Belle Vue.......especially when you lose.

| I've not idea what is happening regarding payments for hosting sky games. However, the RFL are terrible wen it comes to implementing these new ideas. In what other sport would nobody know the format or who you play at what venue until about 3 weeks beforehand. This should be fully explained and structured before the season so everyone is clear that finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in Championship results in this fixtures
