FOR all those querying which of our 2015 squad members appear on the overseas quota, are non-federation trained, club trained or 'kolpak', we have moved to clarify things for you

Our Overseas Quota players include:
Jake Mullaney (Non-Federation Trained)
Adrian Purtell (Non-Federation Trained)
Karl Davies (Non-Federation Trained)
Mark Offerdahl (Non-Federation Trained)
Adam Henry (NOT Non-Federation Trained)

Our Non-Federation Trained players include:
Harry Siejka (Not on Overseas Quota)
Etu Uaisele (Not on Overseas Quota)
Chris Ulugia (Not on Overseas Quota)

In total, we have five players (maximum) on our Overseas Quota and seven players (maximum) on our Non-Federation Trained list.

Hopefully, that clears up any concerns you may or may not have.

Anyway, now we can concentrate on the RAB sponsorship thread to see what we can do. Clearly club strategy is to get an influx of talent to match the facility, and I think its good for the recruits to see that if they go all the way that the fans could sponsor them.

How does Adam Henry qualify to be NOT non-federation trained? He's over 21 and has not played here for 3 seasons. Or have these qualifiers been changed without it being publicised?

I'm racking my brains a little here, but was Adam Henry the player that we needed a special dispensation to sign in the first place due to the number of first team games he had (or hadn't) played in the NRL?

Could it somehow be related to this? All I can think of tbh.

I think the special dispensation was for his Work Permit/Visa - he had to given a 'special talent' status allowing him to work in the country. Usually players need to have played "X" amount of games at club or country level to apply.

Let's just hope Steve Ferres has done his homework on this!

I believe this is part of the new policy whereby all clubs are getting help to unwittingly play a NFT player in excess of your NFT quota, so that you can get no penalty at all when found to have broken the rules, as someone else once got away with it. Or something like that.

yes it was a bit rude, but I did explain the first time I asked a few weeks ago that it was to prevent endless amounts of pointless discussion and conjecture, and been proved right, so this was the last straw when even more conjecture was generated by Harry apparently blowing the nonfed quota.

IIRC Adam signed but then it was not actually announced for ages, so maybe the signing date was before his birthday. and I did point out after watching his youtube highlights that the jury was out on his tackling as there weren't any.

Unless we signed him 3 yrs in advance can't see how that would have helped. He'd have had to play 3 yrs in our academy before he turned 21 to qualify as fed trained on that basis. A month or two delay in announcing signing won't have made any difference. Doesn't really matter why he's got a dispensation, apart from satisfying our curiosity. At least we know that we're ok under rules with signings as they stand and it puts speculation to bed.
