| In the after match summary the usual suspects were discussing who out of the coaches without a job would be best for the bulls. One of them said Franny Cummins.

| Quote ="Bully_Boxer"Well at least this defeat just about confirms what most of us already expected several weeks ago. It also gives the new coach some time to plan accordingly for the drop out of SL.
The game was awful, I spent most of it wishing I was somewhere else to be honest. I've got a season ticket so will continue until the end but I can't see why anyone would pay on the gate to watch us right now. Boring, predictable, low quality rugby league. So sad to see what a mess we have become, to see a fairly ordinary Hull KR side turn us over comfortably without really breaking a sweet.'"
I spent most of the 2nd half wondering whether turning up just because I had paid for my season ticket makes sense. Its not enjoyable so why do it? And I get neck strain from continually looking at the clock to see how long it is until the final whistle.
Its got to be better than this in the Championship, surely

| Need to start planning for the championship now . Get a new coaching staff in so they can decide who to keep from squad , who wants to stay ? Who we can afford ? And then look at getting some more players in so we have a proper squad to compete next year. Don't want another year of a paper thin squad and loan players. Think like a lot of fans said on here and last night at the game I just want the season to finish now so we can rebud on a better footing and start the climb back up to the top over the next few years. Hopefully start next year with a bigger squad and no more off field problems as we have all had enough of the soap we have been in supporting bradford the last few years.
Come on you bulls !!

| The stupid thing about next year is we will have much more money than this year. The TV money plus the parachute payment will seem like we have won the lottery. If they save and split the parachute payment over two to three years this will give us close to £1.25m per year - over double that we have received this last two years. We should be able to have a very good full time squad. It also means we can sign players on two+ year contracts.
It is now vital that we sign an experienced coach and assistant who can attract quality players. The more I think about it the more I side on Kear with someone like Poaching or Morrison if he fancied teaming up with Kear again. Just watched the match again this morning and it was good to see Henry Paul and Derrick Fox at the game. I wonder what they are both doing at the moment. Shame Foxy didn't go into coaching as he would have been great with the young lads. Same with Henry!
I would offer Kearney a good contract to stay as our only overseas player and make him captain if Gale goes. I don't see them all going as they might not all get offers. Many would play much better under Kear.
I would use the parachute payment over 2-3 years to give us that time frame to re-build. TV + the PP. payment will pay the players for 2-3 years. The club should comfortably manage the other bills on season tickets, sponsorship and other income. We should be OK financially. Even if Green does move on we will be in a much better position and other owners could then be interested in a stable club rather than how we are now.
I am starting to look forward to playing some of the clubs we used to play a few decades ago. Competitive games again!
Things are usually only as bad as you allow them to be. It could be an enjoyable couple of years fighting and re-building our way back.

| Woolly --- I agree with 95% of your post. My only doubt surrounds Kear. Your strategy for the next 2 years is great and I hope Bulls management adopt something very similar. However whilst I do like the man, Kears record since he left Sheffield suggests to me he's more of a short term fix than someone who can lay a firm foundation.

Can you explain the maths behind this please, because I really don't think we'll be getting anything close to that.
If we're in SL2 next year we will get £780k funding - and that's including the parachute payment.

| I would like a complete clear out of most of the present squad if possible and get some guys in who are gonna give 100% when the chips are down. Its Rugby League Jim,but not as we know it.Fooookin, complete, lifeless garbage, especially in the context of the overall importance of the game.I'd keep Kearney. ) and Obrien and a few other youngsters.Let's get some fresh blood IN if at all possible and rid ourselves of the Can't/Won't do attitude of this season.Bring back Leon if he's up for it to lead the charge back to Super League and some forwards who can actually make ground.
Jimmy Jimmy!

| I actually though most players last night gave as much as they could.
I thought the effort was there, but unfortunately, the layers are just not good enough. Lots of praise for Kear, was by far our best player.
If Disco only concentrates on 1 thing this week, it has to be showing the forwards how to run onto the ball at pace. I think we've even managed to train that out of Fakir!

i disagree. Sitting in the bar before the game, it was clear that for once, man for man, the teamsheet should have been in our favour.
If you went into the dressing room and said to each player: "Is your opposite number a better player than you"? - how many would say, "Yep, I'm afraid he has me beat"?
How many fans would have said before the match that on paper we could not win? I'd suggest none, because we put out a pretty strong team (or would have, if you could wipe from memory their recent actual efforts).
I am not bothered enough to go into any analysis of why yet again we were paggered, all I'll say is two things: first that there's perhaps a difference between whether the players ARE good enough perhaps and whether they TURN UP. Second, I'm sorry but you are never going to convince me that getting mullered by yet another virtual half-century, by a weakened HKR team in bad form, means that there WAS enough effort and the players DID give as much as they could.
Sure, it wasn't a game where players stood about and tossed it off, but you have to compare the teams on the day and in my mind there is no doubt whatsoever that HKR wanted it more, they had more desire, hunger and dog. And as the game progressed we allowed them to skate away with it. I simply do not accept that the names on that sheet of paper could get stuffed by 50 every week, like clockwork, if they "gave as much as they could". Or if I'm wrong then each one who thinks so should pack the game in and do something less arduous.

| My thought after the game was an ironic "good job they sacked Cummins". It showed that our current problems go far further than the coach.
Funnily enough once we got into the 2nd half I thought the atmosphere improved. So what if we're going down. Let's have a fresh start and build some confidence and put some pride back in.

| I thought the atmosphere improved as more and more accepted the inevitability of us going down. Not that anyone was happy about it but, at each mistake, there were more '[i:1ya6116ewell, what do you expect'[/i involving us and and the Larndan supporters?

| IF we had the HKR 6 and 7 players, I think our squad would have had a better chance.
I actually thought Addy played better than Gale yesterday, although I'd much rather see Addy in the number 13 role.
Also, is it just me or has anyone else thought that Addy is putting quite a bit of weight on? He looks a tad unhealthy compared to earlier in the season.

| He does look a tad 'chunky', doesn't he. Maybe Franny was thinking about him doing a stint at prop, along with back row and halves?
