| Think it is more to do with BB2014 seemingly doing everything the RFL asked and being in talks with them for so long, and then for the RFL to slap a 6pt penalty on the Bulls which far as i can make out took BB2014 completely by surprise.

The deduction was for going into admin, which the bulls did so thats four or six points.
If the new owners once sought offer to pay the existing creditors from the old business i could see the RFL reducing that to four and think that would be fair in the circumstances.
I think that is well within the rules.'"
If the club is worth more with the points than without, then I guess it [iis[/i the administrators concern. The decision to dock the points was always a bit presumtious anyway, since they don't what, if anything, is going to be owed until the new owner emerges. The RFL - [ialways[/i on the ball..

Possibly so, but in fairness to the RFL the speed things were going betweek Omar and the new BOD they had to make a decision at some point and it was dragging on somewhat.
Was it overkill to put off BB2014? maybe it was (personaly i think it was) but it was none the less within their rules.

It depends on what you choose to believe.
The RFL say they are a bunch of flyers with no money which may have taken them by surprise, but we all know that the RFL are a bunch of flyers with no clue...which surprises nobody!

unfortunately none of have seen the proposed financial plan of a) buying the club and b) paying off creditors.
The RFL in the guise of Solly and Rimmer did work with BB2014, but it appears after the full board looked at what was on the table they had a drastic change of opinion, was it after as the RFL state they were not happy with the club being bought by the funds from the central funding and not owners putting in the cash..??
Guess this is what the spat is about and why BB2014 are looking to sue the RFL ....who knows

No, the RFL made a brief statement yesterday that they would neither be issuing a public apology or taking the original press release off their website (it's still there), and said they would deal with the matter through their solicitors.

I didn't see that. I guess it's a legal game on now.

| The best scenario is for you to go down this season and build the club up again in the new division over the next few seasons. You'll be competing at the top end of that division so the crowds should stick with you albeit you won't be playing the top SL sides but at least you'll be building up a club who gets used to winning again and competing at the top of the league.
You won't need to spend fortunes on players in the hope of staying up /staying in the top league for the new play off system and no pressure will be on you to break the bank on star players like you have done. It might be strange seeing Bradford out of the top division but would be worth it for you if you still have a team to support.

Whilst that's maybe not a worst case scenario, it most certainly isn't the best one for us.

| Cut your wage bill this season by letting the high earners leave if they wish to do so then bring through some younger players from your academy or like you are doing now bring in loan players from other clubs who could potentially be at Bradford next season. You're still a big club with some pull so players will want to play for you whatever division you are in.
It's not worth throwing money away on good established players in the hope of staying up this season as it just digs another financial black hole for you you don't really want or need. I don't know the ins and outs of your financial troubles at the moment but it's not worth further risking your clubs future by trying to stay up. I still can't believe the potential savours of Bradford walked out after you were hit with a points deduction. Wouldn't it be better building a club up with solid foundations from the bottom instead of fire fighting this season to stave off relegation for short term gain of staying up?

| most people think going down is a deathknell, which it most likely is. In all likelyhood the best team from the 2nd league will get a one match chance to get promoted (4th v 5th) of the middle 8 mini league...This will almost certainly be against a SL team that will have a salary cap of £1.85m compared to £1m, going to be damn hard to get out of SL2

They didn't, they had been misled re that (they said) but what did foir them was the decision that despite being brand new owners, they couldn't run the club if they took it over, they would instead have been in special measures. That was what they especially couldn't accept.

Not only a deathknell for the club but, apparently, also financially ruinous for any new owner without very deep pockets

Quote SPECIAL MEASURES
A3:2 Where the Board reasonably believes that a Club’s position with regard to HMRC or any
other financial or organisational circumstances relating to the Club gives reason for
concern for the Club’s stability, the Club may be placed into “Special Measures”. When a
Club is in Special Measures it may be required:
(a) to provide such proof as the RFL requests that current and historic HMRC liabilities
or other liabilities (as appropriate) have been and are being paid on a monthly basis;
(b) to provide such information as the RFL requests about the Club’s management
accounts and budgets;
(c) to comply with the Board’s conditions about the value, duration and type of contract
it may enter into with Players and not to enter into any contract without permission.
Failure to comply with any arrangements required under Special Measures may result in
the Board withholding central distributions and taking such other action as it thinks fit in
the circumstances including but not limited to placing a registration embargo on the Club.'"

Well if that statements true then it looks like a very bleak future for you. Think a lot of it is doom and gloom scaremongering though and it will do you no harm at all going down, cutting your cloth accordingly and building your club up again from the foundations up.

Well done for getting "cutting your cloth" in, but the Administration bingo thread is elsewhere.

Your statement holds true for Castleford and Wakefield for example as the sport is the only game in town and intergral to the fabric of that Town and City. The conditions do not exist in Bradford for that sort of bounce back.
Bradford has a small Amateur set-up compared with neighbouring districts such as Calderdale and Kirklees areas. Never in a million years could you call it a Rugby city. I do not believe that we could have any certainty of returning to the top table in more than a decade, if at all.
With respect, had Huddersfield rebuilt from the foundations as you advocate and done so without the invaluable support of one man, you'd be the same. I believe you would be a fair to good 1st division team clammering for the introduction of 8x8x8.
