Would be more than happy to see Clough come in. Although I doubt Saints would be willing to release or lend us him as I imagine that he will be needed at some point during the season for them.

Apparently we told him half way through last season if he found another team we wouldn't stop him leaving (the lad was gutted) - and rumours are abound this week as he's the obvious exception to those who were out on dual reg - so read into that as you will.

As I say, where somewhat blessed in the prop/ second row department so wouldn't surprise me if clough left, and you guys seem in need!

Let's not forget the board did state that the finances we're now okay and that the 1st team squad was being ring-fenced. This statement makes me believe that the board were happy with the outgoings with wages. After that statement we lost both Carvell and Sammut, i'd like to think they were 2 earners in the 'higher' wage bracket.

Fielden is past it now, he will spend more time on the bench that playing which is not what we need, clough would be very good, as would jewitt.

Said on Radio Leeds tonight that Keith Mason is to announce his retirement from the sport this week, so maybe thats that one put to bed. Will be a pity if Mason retires. He's no world beater and can be a penalty machine but we could sure use his aggression and 'go forward' right now.

I've just had a trawl through the 2014 Squad lists and there's really not a lot of 'spare' props around, even for a short term loan. Perhaps Brad Singleton at Leeds could be one to loan - he'd be at least fifth or sixth choice for prop for the Rhinos. Paul Clough looks well down the pecking order at Saints too

But beyond Mason I can't see a lot that we could get longer term - presumably thats why Fielden has been mentioned!

Unless Cummins is looking at the lower leagues?

Singleton started for Leeds on Sunday, and in most fans' eyes is a first choice starter and 2nd best prop at the club behind Peacock - I would imagine he'll be getting a lot of game time this year, and would be amazed if he went anywhere on loan.

Clough would do for me--solid,hard worker.

According to the board there was no financial reason to lose the either Carvell or Sammut so there is no realm reason why they couldn't be replaced with similar signings, other than them not being available of course. There again neither Carvell nor Sammut were 'available'.....

My friend asked him straight (and she is fairly close to him and his Mrs) - after the game on Sunday and he said he isnt going anywhere
