At least we had some decent commentry today to make up for Mr Hobson who forgets to tell you what is happening as he just bumbles on and on about anything while you can hear a game being played in the background. Well done Mr Gledhill. I did notice you saying we must explain to the listeners what has just happened. Thank you. I couldn't go today but you covered the game clearly. Those who listen regularly will be hoping you do it more often. Next time please pull the cable out of the socket of Mr Hobsons microphone so he can talk to himself for eighty minutes while you get on with it.

Some would argue that still to be the case.

Very harsh on Hobbo. I think he chimes in with interesting stuff and from what I gather he does it for the love of the Bulls.

BCB's budget will be something approaching zero so they're hardly going to get Alan Green.

Which is excellent news given that, after John Inverdale and John Motson, Green is the biggest gobe on the radio.

I like BCB. You're never entirely sure if they're going to run on the pitch and fight the referee or not.

Sarginson seems all set to join Wigan, and is going to need a hell of a lot of work to sort his defence out.
Bailey has been linked with Hudds for a while now.
Dorn has been linked with Cas.

No mention of Kaufusi leaving. It's a shame, because I would have liked to see him at the Bulls, but I think it was always just wishful thinking on my part as opposed to the club making a genuine effort to sign him.

Regarding Lawrence, let's just wait and see what happens.

Lawrence, I admit, is a player I've never really kept an eye out for and at first almost dismissed this as "no thanks" - however, he does seem to be a cracking defender - still, he'll probably stay at Hudds.

I've my fingers crossed the recruit from the Giants is Paul Anderson as a new assistant coach!



As per Melling mentioned above, God I hope not, I think he'll join Leigh or A N Other north-west Championship side.

And to be honest I can see Platt joining him, we haven't heard a peep from him except being the 18th man on occasion, nowt in the T&A about how his contract discussions are going - certainly not like the other OOC players anyway.

... oh, and I see we've reverted to type by announcing a September sale in the Bulls Megastore!

To re-cap it's "pay on the gate for London get a free ticket for Hudds" or "season ticket holders get a 40% megastore voucher for Sept at the turnstile".

Although rumours that it's Danny Addy handing out the vouchers are unfounded.

The losses against Catalans and Cas will cost us dear. Not that we would have had a record crowd v London but now it is meaningless there will be a zero walkup and it could be the worst crowd for a long time. The last game v Hudds could be a completely meaningless game too the way things are going.

It's meaningless in terms of league points but any Giants or Bulls fan who tells you they aren't bothered about the result is lying IMO. It will however be a handy excuse for the Giants fans not attending closely followed by the claim that they had 1000 speccys on the popular side.

I do fully understand about it being a community broadcaster and the implications of that. Yes they do give a great service that other organisations wouldn't offer. My main gripe is that on those few occasions I can't make it to the match i listen to BCB and his commentary isn't commentary. Yes he loves the Bulls and this allows him to say things without thinking but it is still a public broadcaster and there has to be standards upheld. I found myself nearly shouting at the radio asking what is going on. Mick explaind where the teams are, who has it, which way they were passing etc. This is commentary. Mr Hobson doesn't do any of that. He just chatters on and occasionally tells us what is happening - when he remembers between reminding us every 2 minutes we are listening to BCB, home of live sports and backed by Provident. If it is worth doing it is worth doing right and not just as a nice little hobby.

It's not worth doing which is why we're dependent on enthusiastic amateurs. I didn't hear Mick's commentary but if he's an improvement then good luck to him. Hobson's been doing it for years and usually he's the summariser while the other guy, who is clearly not an RL man does the commentating. Hobbo is much the better of the two and frequently has to explain what's just happened to the lad who's commentating. Recently, Hobbo's been commentating with Ken Firth. I think they do a good job with what they've got.

FC has to sign some props from somewhere or it's more of the same. Sidlow raised eyebrows but has been a good signing.

He's already got carvell and it sounds like Evans loan could be extended. If so then one more prop should be enough.

Evans needs huge improvement which I'm not ruling out due to his age and him missing pre-season but were anyone to ask whether he's looked SL standard, I'd have to say 'no'. We desperately need more numbers, size and experience throughout the pack. I think we need two props and another two back rowers.
