Andy Hodgson was another player who could have made it into the backline.

Fair okay to him, still young obviously has a brain and will have a back up once his rugby is over. It says in t&a he is finishing his degree so I doubt he is calling time on his rugby league it's probably just a short break of a year.

what about tahi reihana? and didn't graham mackay only play one year for us? he would get in above any other winger mentioned so far.

I thought Herbert had a few good games for us but was a bit slow at times getting the ball out. he also became quite predictable with the short flat ball to Elima used regularly. I've no hard feelings against him though, he was a tryer but not quite the player we needed.

And the lad who signed for us in the first super league season, never played a game. Think he was called Michael Paris or something like that. Aussie school boy (but then so were BJ and Jim Gannon)

Hudson and Higham fighting it our for the hooking duties and Danny Sculthorpe in the pack instead of Hammer.

Maybe I was confusing him with someone else, it's a while back now and I've slept since then. I'll go with the Sculthorpe suggestion in his place though.

Looks an honest lad, but not good enough for mine. We've no link between the forwards and backs, and play stops at him far too often.

When are we going to start using them centre and wing thingies, perhaps Potter could introduce Herbert to them in training!

No he didn't actually. In fact he played for us in two spells something like eight or nine years apart. I believe the earlier spell was probably the longer.

Yes I remember reading/hearing he played for Northern. The one year wonder thing was a bit of a long shot if we were only talking about the bulls.

That's something I never do, actually. For me it's continuous and I see no gap between Northern and Bulls. Same with SL, at a base level, for me, it's nothing more than the old first division with a new name.

Also does a lot of backroom type of work, from what I understand he oraganises the legends / ex-player type events. Jon Hamer is still a Bull IMO

slightly different for me. I only started watching seriously since 1996 when I could get free tickets from school. My Dad took me to the odd Northern match but I can't really remember much about them. I've been fairly lucky in the quality of rugby I've been watching. Up until recently that is.
