Also, you have to be disappointed with those that booed Sam as he left the field.
On another note, you have to be disappointed with the people that two fingered Tomkins as he walked off.
As well as that, you have to be disappointed.......

| When Bulls got their final try I was wondering whether they would have forfeited the kick, as is allowed, & whether that would have given sufficient time for Wigan to KO again?

that thought crossed my mind too. but time ganson stopped clock there were only 10 seconds left so it was pretty academic. With wind yesterday wigan coul have put a bomb up and we would only have time for one carry before hooter blew. Chances of going length of field against any opposition in those cicumstances are slim to non-existant.

I asked the same question at the game. The only way they could have done it though is if the captain told Ganson of that intention while the video ref was still looking, and then the entire team got back into position so that he could stop the clock.
It seemed to me though that everyone had accepted that as the final score. Nobody seemed to think there was a chance of another play, including the referee, who just casually sauntered over to the kicker after awarding the try and putting time back on.

I have to disagree with you. Sam is a clever player but he has anything but a bad attitude. Opposing fans are creating this bad attitude impression simply because they don't like him being so good.

I wish he didn't have the bad attitude so I could like what he does on the pitch more. Take your cherry white tints off pal

I really enjoy watching him play and as a neutral I think he does have an aggressive streak (which all good players need) and has a niggly sort of style that gets under opponents and fans skins. A sign of a good player. I'd not call it a bad attitude, rather a typical halfback persona.

Is he a niggler like Ryan Bailey?

I don't have any problem with him being good. He's a superb player and he has the world at his feet, but if you take off the cherry and white specs you'd see a niggler who holds down the tackler and plays dead trying to milk penalties. It really is a shame, he really is so good but if his attitude doesn't change then I wouldn't be shocked to see him receiving a proper hiding before long.

| Tomkins is great. His attitude is not far from spot on, Ok sometimes his antics overstep the mark but he's the right side of the line mostly. Very much in the Alex Murphy mould, his getting under the skin of opponents is a valuable part of his armoury and as he matures he'll get better and more clever and selective at it. He's the halfback (and yes I know he's currently a fullback) that England have been praying for and the stick he gets just shows how good opposing fans think he is. Secretly they would all give their eye teeth for him in their team. England's future answer to Billy Slater? Well, certainly the only player in recent times of which the question could even be asked.

I agree that he sometimes holds down the tackler and sometimes tries to milk penalties as do most RL players! However, he wasn't trying to milk the penalty on Sunday when Rayner mis-timed his attempt to dislodge the ball.
No need for me to remove any specs. I see things quite clearly thanks.

| It's strange but being at that game was a revalation really and this is the first chance I've had to come on here and say it, we saw so much heart, bravery and skill in that one game and it was a pleasure to watch, daft as it sounds the fact that we lost in the end and that we were out of the Challenge Cup was secondary, we went out but what a way to go!!!
The wind was evil and the Bradford support was small but we were loud and everyone I spoke to as we were leaving left proud of what our boys did that day, well done you Bulls and well done to all who attended and supported them.

Ah! None so blind as he who will not see?
Not to worry mate the game is over and we're out, but I'll wish you well for the rest of the competition and if you can prevent any crowing Rhinos, Giants or Saints fans coming on here by winning the cup, then I'll be happy enough!
