I thought Briggs went well in pre-season and against Leeds, Kearney is going to be a massive miss but if it gives Briggs a chance for some game time maybe there's a silver lining to that massive thundercloud.

Its a massive blow towards are push for the top 8 but I'm sure that given game time Briggs will come good! He's an obvious talent and needs game time to prove it!

I'm holding judgement on Briggs as he's only played 120 minutes of Super League. With Kearney absent for the next 2 months I'd expect Briggs to step up and hopefully fill the void missing in the halves.

Also think Potter may give Southernwood a run out if needed.

Great attitude that, if true it goes a long way to explain why he hasn't made it at the top level.

If he can't understand why potter isn't picking him, all he needs to do is watch the tape of the Salford game. One of the most inept stand off performances you're ever likely to see.
A shame really as he looked promising in pre-season. I'm still hoping the Salford match was just an off day for Briggs as we need him to come good now that Kearney is out for a while.

It's great how everyone's getting at the lad seeing as he's only played two super league games. The lad played against Salford which was his first game in something like 2 months!

I'm hoping he gets a good run and fulfils his obvious potential.

Also I take no notice in 'My mate is best mates with his best friends cousin' rumours.

To be fair, just about everyone in the team had a mare in that game.

It was harsh to single him out after Slaford game

It was his first game in 2 months & first game with Herbert
He is still finding his feet at s/l level

Lets face it, if the lad can create 1 break per game he has to play!!

True, I think Herbert came away with praise from the game as he scored 2 tries. To be fair neither had a pack running for them. He was also hed up over the line where from where he started had no right to get there.

I think it's more about moving away from club to prove himself if he can't get in first team.

wasn't his first game in 2 months as he's played for u20s at least once. Needs a run in 1st team before we judge him though IMO

First game at that level, big difference in 1st team to under 20's

He's scored 2 and converted 3 as the u20's went down to the Rhinos

I liked his interception try, I was a bit puzzled at first as I thought interception where only scored against us.

If he does plan on playing Briggs on Monday and bearing in mind injury to BK it was a big gamble playing him today in U 20's IMO. Imagine if he picked up an injury

What are the other options for 6 if Briggs doesnt play? Not a lot IMO and if briggs cant get a game now then i think the writing is on the wall for him already!! I would love to see him get a go as i think he may have a little bit of creativity in him and god we need that

Perhaps it was to give Briggs a little confidence back? He scored two I believe so it might have worked.
