| Saints will probably offer Pryce a 1 year contract, but we'll probably offer him 3 years.

| If his injuries aren't career threatening then we should be interested in signing Pryce for 2012 IMO. If he looks after himself we should still get 3-4 years of good rugby out of him. Saints have pulled a rabbit out the hat with their latest signing but it is always more of a gamble signing an overseas player IMO. We know Pryce will settle at Bradford and we know he is one of the better stand offs in SL.

| Where would it leave Briggs, Herbert and Southernwood if we signed Pryce? Do we have to wait for yet another halfback pairing to gel in 2012?
At 30 is Pryce going to be past his best anyway? A lot depends on if he gets over his latest injury. Groin problems can take the edge off a player and can be chronic problems that are difficult to cure. I know from personal experience that operations in this area can be little use. Once you get over 30 things don't heal up so quick.

| maybe lady luck could make Pryce a Morrison for us, elsewhere people were talking about Morrison/Menzies would be good for our young forwards. Pryce, having played every back position other than SH (or am I wrong) could do just the same for our young backs...
WHICH YOUNG BACKS!!!??? Silsden bulls squad shows one thing, that all the [urecent[/u home grown players are forwards, theres not a single back amongst them in the first team. What is going wrong? ARe we not able to recruit any quality backs into the academy? Is the academy not doing its job of bringing them on? Do they get fed up with being understudies to a load of previously unknown Aussies?
quite an important question for the future of the Bulls.
PS playing devils advocate on Pryce, I would not want him back.

We'd rather sign an average Aussie in Royston hence why Wardle left.

Herbert is on a 1 year deal, who is to say he will even be here in 2012. Briggs still has a lot to prove, he's struggling to get into the team at the moment and we aren't exactly blessed in his position.
If the club are serious about top four finishes then the recruitment for next season needs to have more emphasis on quality IMO. I'd say there is a lot less risk in signing Pryce then going overseas to sign another Orford. Obviously we'd need to check his injury but Pryce hasn't got a history of picking up a lot of knocks and being injury prone. Proven SL stand off and homegrown, we could do a lot worse IMO.

| TBH, it is a no brainer for me. If Pryce is available we should snap him up. After all, it seems from reading on here (ignoring the utter nonsense spouted by many that Briggs was outstanding against Leeds) that the two players signed to be our HB combo are not exactly setting the heather on fire.
He has experience and quality, and making him the main man in the side could make him a major asset for us.

| I have doubts about Leon. 1) his lack of consistency in levels of performance. 2) he will probably be on the injury list more often than not!
On his day Leon can be a brilliant game changer but those days are now getting less and less. Emotionally would like him back. Pragmatically no!

His own opinion perhaps? Or maybe because he has only manage three mins RL since July due to two seperate injuries?
Seriously I just do not know why you seem to think that people need to justify everything they post?

| Tbh Leon coming in to give Briggs and southernwood time to develop seems a decent call, on proviso Leon doesn't spit his dummy out if asked to play a position other than SO.
On Briggs, don't think we've seen enough off him to judge yet either way.

| we've got to weigh up the options. if there's no-one about and we can afford him then yes we should sign him. He's a game breaker and so long as Herbert is still here next year (or some other player who can organise) then Pryce will have a lot of freedom around the park. A very dangerous player when used correctly.

| Not sure about Pryce. He can be the best player in the competition on his day, but he's getting on and it might be better for you to find a long-term solution. Also, players returning to their clubs rarely end up being as good as the fans would like - just look at the likes of Lee Smith, Paul Sykes, Gasnier etc

| I agree to a fair extent with both philgee and Exeter, and I don't think their positions are mutually exclusive. The key point I think is "who else is there that we could realistically sign"? As it stands, I think a FIT Pryce could buy us the time that we clearly need to resolve the longer term. Not, though, if the package was silly money since that would likely just cause ructions within the squad same was as Harris did. Leon of all people should realise that - look at how he responded personally to Harris? I clearly remember, in that CC gaime at Post Office Road, Pryce arguing with Harris quite viciously at the back. Harris may well have been correct, but no way was Leon going to hear it.

You would struggle to name an English SL player who lacks consistency. Danny Brough has been the best SH by a million miles but I also have seen games where he has been almost non-existent. The difference with Pryce is that no-one makes excuses for him. It's never the forwards failing to lay a platform or him having mystical skills elsewhere. He is expected to totally dominate a game from start to finish, scoring or creating every try.

even current bulls players who create more than their SL counterparts get criticised.

Everything I write has factual basis. I don't speculate wildly and seeing I did sev pieces about Leon, read into it what u will.
Interesting.....

| I really don't understand a lot of comments written here sometimes.
Royston average? come off it. He's young and it's his first season in super league. If you ask me he has done very well.
People slagging off Briggs after only playing one game for us (again his super league debut........against one of the best teams in the league) is ridiculous. I have no doubt that when he gets his chance he will suprise a lot of nay sayers on here.
I think too much is expected of the guys sometimes.
We are a club in transition....totally new setup this year in terms of coaching staff and a massive overhaul in players. We aren't consistent, but did anybody honestly exect any more than what we have seen? I am pleased with the season so far (except maybe the huddersfield game) and I am just looking forward to seeing a full strength team play.
IMHO Leon is not the player we want to be looking to recruit next year. He has had his time at Bradford....let it go
