In my opinion, Stevo, Clarkey, Cullen and possibly Eddie should be replaced, possibly with Brian Carney, Jon Wells, Robbie Paul, Brian Noble and one of the SSN presenters (ie. Simon Thomas).

That was the kind of nonsense you'd expect from Stevo normally. Yes you see Platts arm go out but nowhere do you see it connect and he is certain about it

The concern would be who ESPN would bring in - who is the SL commentary Dream Team? I'd also wonder how many 'casual' supporters would get to watch games compared to Sky?

First choice has to be Sky looking at their coverage, pulling their thumbs out of their backsides and overhauling their coverage. It's looking dated, the main presenters are too set in their ways and WHAT THE HELL is with the stupid robot thing? What was once cutting edge is now getting to be a joke.

Worst of all worlds is that the RL is split between two broadcasters. I can live with paying one set of subscriptions but two might just be too much.

If you're on Virgin you get ESPN free if you buy Skysports - might not help everyone though. If it went solely to ESPN I'd switch to ESPN only as I could probably make do without the other sports - football via MOTD and cricket on highlights show

Maybe if you buy the right package. Go for the small package plus SS and you don't get ESPN.

Ahhh soz, I've always gone for all the channels on Skysports as they do occasionally switch channels for ESL - plus I like watching the UFC on ESPN too

Yeah, I guess these deals keep changing all the time. I was on cable a few years back but got rid because it was a good bit more money for far fewer channels. I'm not really one who can be bothered with the hassle of changing after every contract period though, it's a pain in the rear end to be honest.

So far no one has had a good word about Stevo but with people getting on Phil Clarkes for Wigan bias. But the legendary play off match with the bulls throwing it away in the second half in 2007 i think. After Pat Richards scored with the one point you should have heard Stevo screaming for Deacon to do the same.

He took his stupity to a whole new level tonight when claiming that Webb's 5 metre forward pass to Hall was not forward, even though every other person in the world could clearly see it was forward. In fact it was described as forward a week

I liked the way Phil's voice went really high when trying to explain why the pass wasn't 5 metres forward.

I picked up on that, it made me laugh when the replay came on and slowed it down showing the lad pass the ball from behind the line and then the winger receiving the pass a comfortable 2 yards over the line!

There are plenty of Ok passes which will travel 2 metres 'forward' in relation to the ground though. That's why the rule says it has to be not forward in relation to the man passing the ball. It would be quite impossible to play a game of rugby as we currently do, if the ball wasn't allowed to travel forward in relation to the ground. This is due to the forward momentum built up by a fast running player when he passes the ball; he may pass the ball behind himself but it will still go forwards in relation to the ground because it was travelling forwards in his hands when he passed it.

Even allowing for that I thought Webb's pass was forward though.

So the ball has forward momentum when it is being carried? So it a player drops the ball straight down when running then the ball will continue moving forwards at the same pace as the player?
I'm sorry, but I think that's rubbish. The ball has no momentum of its own until it is given some.

If you drop something out of the window of a moving car, the object will continue to move forwards in relation to the point as which it was released, as it was originally moving at the same speed (with its own momentum) of the car.
If you hit the brakes hard and are not wearing a seatbelt, you'll go through the windscreen because everything in the car has the same momentum.

Momentum = Mass x Velocity (speed in a given direction)

You've still got your Cullen ears on. Cullen very articulately and passionately says nothing at all. Clarke has exactly the same trick, except Clarke has learned to make the ends of his sentences have some connection to their beginning.
