Knowing Richo and Crowe, they will be hoping that he loves the lifestyle and wants to stay (if he proves successful) and they get a good look at him before he is off contract the year after.

I would guess that he would come back here for the 2012 season, be a massive hit as peacock was afetr doing a year in the reserve grade over there, then will return in 2013 as a genuine first grade contender for the bunnies.

Not shocked about a loan deal to be honest, this is just what Jamie Peacock did IIRC, though you have to hope it's not just the thin edge of the wedge.

but he doesnt only have a year left, he has two as you pointed out earlier. Two things spring to mind. firstly if he is a hit down under then we may be able to command a larger transfer fee if they want to buy him out of last year off his contract as opposed to what they would be prepared to pay now for an unproven player. Secondly we dont know the terms off the deal so its hard to say whether its good or bad from our point off view. On the face off it we potentially get a player back having benefited from playing in a better competition than our academy league, with the obvious danger that he may like it down there and not want to return. Possibly we've got to sign a 1 year extension to his current deal so he gets to go to oz for a year and sample the lifestyle and we still get two years service out of him afterwards? Like I said until we know details off the deal its hard to judge.

This is a real way in which we can help the club attract and keep youngsters at the club.

Unfortunately there isn't a great deal you can do with rich owners are doubling the money of these young kids.

Frustrating though it is - we still need to keep investing in the youth.
Yes, 3 top youngsters have gone - who knows if they'll make it or not, but surely even the "rich clubs" cannot sustain throwing that sort of money at the youngsters - especially when many won't even make it.

We've still seen Whitehead, Donaldson, Addy and Southernwood (to name a few) all push the first teamers in recent years, so things aren't all bad!
