| If it means anything us Wire fans are also worried about the choice of Silverwood. With Alibert he's been one of the worst refs this season. Lets hope he pulls something before the game & can't ref!!!!!!!!!

| I watched some of the highlights of state of origin last night, I saw at least 4 questionable decisions which, on replay, the ref got wrong, one leading to a try, one a penalty. Guess what? The commentators made no bones about it, jsut got on with the game in a mature fashion. I couldn't hear constant cries of forwaaaard & cheat, cheat, cheat from the crowd.

That's cos it was just Aussies versus Aussies so no-one was really bothered about the outcome, it's a bit like a friendly really isn't it. Either that or becoz they're all thick ex-convicts who don't understand the rules, like what we do and unlike that saddo Silver 'I hate Bradford' wood. I even saw him tell Sinfield off for lying on (and cheating obviously) just to make it LOOK fair!

The crowd couldn't see or hear anything as they had all been forced to pull either blue or marown (sic) wooly baffles over their heads, and are too far from the pitch anyway.
I though the number of grapple tackles that were let go was embarrassing. And by and large it was a pretty dead rubber, which Queensland never looked like losing, so what was there to get excited about?
Oddly enough, the only time the Aussie commentators make a hue and cry over wrong decisions is if the ref/s is/are not Australian. I remember despite reffing as well as any indigenous whistle blowers, whenever Rusty did anything questionable it was always a huge topic for analysis.

Absolutely. Those Aussie grounds really are the pits. They look really great in the dry but when it rains it shows up the awful way they've been designed. Virtually everyone on the bottom tier was in a raincoat, what a shocker of a stadium.

| I think the only thing we can guarantee is Silverwood will get something wrong. He's not biased just inconsistent/cr4p (delete as fits your prejudice).
Ganson on the other hand....

I'm going for the 3rd game and it'll be just my luck if it rains.
The only other time I went to an NRL game it rained and we were soaked, even though we we were under a covered stand. Then again I suppose the weather was very good for my wedding the next day so I can't complain too much.

The other week it was a similar situation at Melbourne's brand spanking new, state of the art stadium for the Anzac Test.
With weather like that it's little wonder so many Antipodeans have extended holidays in the North of England (and even Wales.)

The only ones I can think of are Stuart McCall, Davina McCall, Kirsty MacColl and what we get from VRs namely Sweet FcCall.

| Your best tip would be to wear white with a red vee tomorrow, as per the scousers.
We have Silverwood every year at the pit and we get sweet FA.
He doesn't like us. FACT.
Here's to a good game though.

What was most concerning about his decision to award the try to Sheriffe yesterday?
That he didn't see Menzies play at and touch the ball from Halley?
Or
That he did and thought it went backwards?

| Silverwood must be the worst official in SL though.
3 tries from forward passes in the past 2 weeks.
Maybe time to let the video referee adjudicate for a forward pass or develop technology to do so?

| Regarding the Worrincy penalty -
It should have been a penalty to Bradford - not because he didn't kick it 10 metres, but because Briers took the drop-out from a metre forward in the first place. How can the referee not notice something as obvious as that??

What I fail to understand is why a ref can adjudicate a knock on such as the Menzies 'touch'. I said to my old man at the time that surely the only decision the video ref can judge on is whether Menzies touched the ball or not. But apparently Ganson ruled he had touched the ball but it went backwards.. dodgy ground surely?
But I see no reason why a blatant forward pass should not be scrubbed off by the video ref. The one versus Leeds was ridiculously forward no matter what angle you viewed it from. There will be plenty of instances where the pass is flat or dubious in which case BOD should come into play. But surely for the ridiculous the video ref can rule it out?

| The problem I see with the video referee being allowed to rule on passes is that they can appear both forward and backwards at the same time when viewed from different camera angles.
I agree the pass from Sinfield to Delaney clearly travelled forward but without there is a camera almost directly in line (which obviously there can't always be) I'd rather the calls were left in the hands of the three officials out there.
