For what it's worth, I don't use the supporters coach and won't again after the farce that was the 2002 trip to Hull when they didn't turn up at Odsal till 6:45pm and then we had the mad rush to the Boulevard by which we missed the first half.

Not acceptable, although when Mick Withers got that 40m drop goal with time up to take the game Hull FC 24-25 Bradford, I was glad I didn't jack the trip over in like so many had waiting at Odsal for the stupid buses to arrive.

Anyhow to the bloke who can't get to Salford.


It's very simple mate.

Train from Bradford Interchange (platform two) to Manchester Victoria (direct), leaving at 15:00, 15:32, 16:00, 16:32, 17:00, 17:32, 18:00 with a duration of one hour and seven minutes to Manchester Victoria.

The train will arrive in one of the two bay platforms at Manchester Victoria (platforms one & two) which is handy as the next form of transport is the Manchester metrolink, which is adjacent to where you'll get off.

Head to the Metrolink island platform and you want a tram displaying the destination "Eccles" which runs on the blue line.

Now your in luck because the Metrolink serves the Salford area and the ground has a station called Weaste, so get off here, by which time you'll see the floodlights on and the ground is just a two minute walk up the road and on your right.

I've done this journey many a time and it can be done, Bradford Interchange to The Willows in one hour and forty three minutes.

Well colour me shocked.





That was the last time I used them too. I left just as the buses were turning up, to go home and watch it on Sky, knowing I had no chance of getting to the game on time. Got my money back for the coach trip later. To be fair to the club, I'm not sure the fault was theirs (I believe it was the coach company), but since then, I didn't want to risk other person's fault meaning I didn't get to a game.

Then there's hope for us all yet.

I went on that trip too and to be honest I thought about not going again. Thinking it over though, nothing like that had happened before over many years, and I decided that something probably [icould[/i have occurred whatever means of transport I'd used, car problems, incidents on the road etc. To be fair the only things I can remember since then have been traffic related (motorway closures or thick fog, that sort of thing) so it's been fairly plain sailing and convenient though I'll admit a tad expensive these days.

Quins away last season - but that was traffic no the buses I guess.

I must say that with myself only being 24 and having a student railcard, I can travel to say wakefield, Castleford or Huddersfield for £2.45 return but the club charge £8.
