the 96-16 I remember cheering on one of the Salford tries as it was a break from half way late in the game and the popular side all cheered as their guy beat our full back to make it an 80 point game

Especially as we lost the following week, starting the gradual evaporation of that season.

| Salford are like the Bulls in trying to get their season started and Kipper McRae will have them up for this one, As Sykes pointed out in his T & A piece the defence needs tightening up against crosses, my concern is we are already trying to go via Orford on the 5th tackle and the opposition are already targetting him, the Bulls need to have more options on who takes the ball, we should also look to others to be playmakers as well, I think that was why Wire lost to the Pies because Briers went off and they looked a bit clueless, while the team is still building an understanding lets make sure they don't build an over reliance on one player. Macca has already said he wants players to be flexible in the positions they are asked to play but there should be a concensus about who leads the attack at certain times, that way it will keep the opposition guessing and less chance of our playmaker getting flattend on the last kick!

| I thought L'Strange looked like he took on more responsibility on Friday and provided he had runners and options he created plenty of space. Orford is definitely the kingpin but there are at least 2 other possible kickers in the side that can be worked in as options on the 5th if necessary, it's not rocket science.

It didn't a few years ago, they were like Odsal where you had to pay an extra couple of quid to "transfer" into the seating area. That may have changed though as I haven't sat down for a few years there, I usually stand (mainly because there's plenty of room on the steps at the Willows)

Well it is if you can get to the ticket office to pick them up! Probably not much incentive if you're paying postage to have them sent out unless they're cheaper than gameday prices like at the Giants.

I can confidently predict that Leeds' result this week will have no influence on the League Table whatsoever.

TBF leeds will be lucky to score any points in a game this week never mind in the superleague
maybe leeds are trying to take another record off saints - most WCC matches lost.

I bet it's a different Leeds team at Elland Road on Sunday to the one that's scraped past Salford and Crusaders and lost to Cas and Wakefield.

I am pretty certain that you can get into the seats above the away terrace at no extra charge.
Also, for anyone paying on the day as a concession or junior, you can't pay by cash at the turnstile you have to get a ticket from Salford's ticket office first.

| Yes, you can DEFINITELY sit in the seats behind the sticks at no additional cost - I'll see you in there!
Quote ="chpntpsr"Remember seeing a Salford fan in tears during the 96-16 match, was a grown man, thought it was quite funny at the time (was 16)'"
As a Salford fan that game was one of those moments that, even as it was happening, you got the feeling that you were earning your stripes as a fan - in years to come it will be like a badge of honour to say you were there to endure it.
The wierdest thing is I think we actually scored to frist and last tries?! Actually, no - the wierdest thing is that it wasn't our worst performance of the season (78-0 v Cas at home was FAR worse, unfortunately?!)
The one thing that really brightened my day up, childish as it may have been, was going to the Odsal Top after the game. It was a nice day and the pub was rammed so we stood outside, depreesed, in almost silence. A fat kid, about 14yrs old, came over and started dancing about singing about how s**t we were (as is we didn't realise already?!) and even Bradford fans were telling him to shut up. Then came the moment that made me laugh ....
One of the lads I was with, totally out of the blue, said to the fat kid "we might be s**t but you can't even get inside that wheelie bin" pointing at a bin outside th epub door. The fat kid disagreed and jumped inside the bin to prove it ..... at which point the Salford fan quickly shut the lid and sat on it. It was almost certainly the first time all day I'd laughed!
The fat kid's Dad came over at one point to ask what was going on - we explained (not realising it was the kid's Dad) but he just said "Stupid t**t, serves him right!" before kicking the bin and going back into the pub?!?
I appreciate it isn't the greatest story ever but it made me laugh on a horrible day ..... until we went for a takeaway at China Ocean round the corner and ended up with food poisoning?!
