Newton doesn't have the mobiltiy to cover the whole field for 80 minutes these days so I cant ee him playing LF, Especially when they have, Morro, JD and Ferguson. I like him though, he's a gifted ball player and more often than not makes the right decisions.

so why were the rest of your players crap also, even sam burges. newton wasnt slagging your club of he just said he wasnt enjoying being there didnt say why.

One or two were. A good number were not. A good number were injured.

Newton was crap. That had a significant effect on our season.

To be fair, Newton is hardly going to turn round and say:

"I really wanted to stay at Bradford, I love it there. I never wanted to sign for a poor club like Wakefield who are going nowhere, but they offered me more money and a longer contract. My heart not comitted to playing for Wakefield, but it's a job isn't it?"

That would not endear him to his new club would it?

An alternative is that Wakefield fans might have seen some of his performances over the last year and rather than admit he's lost his edge he just says he was stale and the environment at Bradford wasn't right for him.

Guess we will just have to judge him on how plays on the pitch (my word that is radical). Wouldn't have been my first pick as a Wakey fan but if he can get back to his best (which I think most Bulls agree that he wasn't last year) then I think we have a reasonable player but not one of our satr player - I think we have a number of better players in the positions he plays in Obst, Morrison, Ferguson & he's on a level with Latu.l

If Kear, despite my high regard for him as a coach and motivator , can convert Morrisson to a hooker then it will go into the realms of disbelief.
Anyway, I wish Newton all the best. He was a valued member of our squad for some seasons playing some outstanding games, though not perhaps performing to his potential in too many others.
If Kear is able to re-enthuse him then he will have a hugely experienced hooker in his squad.
Whilst he has said that he didnt particularly enjoy playing at Odsal last season he has not dissed the club and its supporters.

Not as far as I recall unless its been temoprary within a match. Never a player to do the grunt work which you will find Morrison superb at.
Two entirely different attitiudes to the game.
One the ultimate professional putting his body on the line each and every time, engendering leadershiip in his play through personally striving to excel in everthing he does.
The other has none of the above attributes but can be a top player when he's d.

You will no doubt see them both next year and make your own mind up about their merits.
