cant say I can see us seriously being in running for myler and not sure he'd be right player for us at this stage of his career. a good game against a very weak france apart he has had a fair few poor games for salford this year. We need a halve that can slot straight in and perform to a high level consistently. The transfer fee would be a big stumbling block too unless we could use a player transfer as a makeweight, but all the players that we could potentially afford to use in this way are out of contract anyway. Cant see beyond myler going to wire. Just hope for Englands sake they give him chance to improve and dont expect instant results or he could turn into new kevin penny.

The difference is Kevin Penny is an over-rated sprinter. He's got no RL skills at all, he's just fast. I'm amazed he got as far as he did before getting left out of the side, potentially for good.

Myler clearly has some skills and if he's nurtured properly, could be a top player. I agree with the sentiment regarding him though and hope he doesn't get labelled a flop if he takes some time to settle in.

Myler, at the moment, is a potentally big fish in a small pond. If he moves on to a bigger club then he's going to need some protection for that 1st year or so while he settles in the new club and new surroundings.

There's a lot of presure being put on the shoulders of a young lad and I think it'll be better for him to get his future sorted sooner rather than later. I just hope that whoever is advising him is going for more than a "club z will pay you x thousand a week" approach

seeing as his agent will get a percentage of mylers wage + a percentage of transfer fee, as opposed to just a percentage of his improved deal if he stays at salford, its pretty easy to guess what his agents advising him to do. Especially seeing as his agent is relatively new at being an agent and trying to build his business. being able to point to a massive transfer/wages deal for a relatively young player cant hurt when he's trying to attract new clients


having said that offiah is also halleys agent so i'm a bit surprised we managed to retain dave unless we've had to pay well over the odds to do so.

David Howes is Halley's agaent, isn't he?

think it was af posted a link to offiahs twitter page a week or so back which said he was going up north for meetings with dave halley and myler. Cant see why offiah would meet with halley unless he's his agent, unless daves looking to change agent.

just checked back and seen reds and yours later messages. wonder if halley has switched to offiah. wasnt there something a few years back about us refusing to deal with howes - something about way he handled ellis fiasco?
