So going by that table, in addition to the permutations already discussed which involve us winning at Hull, if we draw and Catalans lose, either of the other two teams would need huge wins to overtake us - Wolves a winning margin of 49+ or Quins a winning margin of 73+.

You guys must be favourites for 8th now, Catalan away at Saints, if they win then rugby league is daft. All you gotta do is beat Hull. Id like to see you in the play-offs as we couldnt play you until the grand final anyway which i doubt would happen so good luck next week.

Some of our games this season would suggest we have no chance if Hull decide to play.

Either way I think it's safe to say that the play-offs will come a week early and next week will be very intense.

You just have to hope that your players don't get carried away with recent results and take it for granted that they will beat Hull. They need to approach it like a cup final and not consider Hulls recent form. After all Hull will want to finish on a high infront of thier own fans.
Following Wigan I've seen us go into many a game as if it were already won and come unstuck every time.
For what it's worth I think you will make it, the only worry is how Saints perform againsts Cats. They have been a bit up and down lately but it would still be a massive upset if they lost at home.

judging by Salford's performance yesterday and given that they (Salford) play Leeds on friday, I would say that Saints have to win by 100 points or so to go top.

I doubt they'll play all their big players.

I guess the one result that has gone against us this past few weeks is Saints losing at Leeds. But most Saints fans seem confident their side will roll up on Friday night.

The only way Saints can go top is if Leeds lose to Salford. Since that ain't gonna happen, the Saints score will be irrelevant, they'll finish 2nd regardless.

It's a shame the top 2 don't still get the first week off, as Saints would be more likely to put a full side out knowing they get a rest week afterwards.

Nah, it was obviously "when did we last win five league games on the bounce", as that's what we have just done. You can't ask "when did we last do that", and give an answer of when we did something similar but different!

Plus the 5th win in the Cup was only Huddersfield, so it's hardly fair to count that one.

Saints will need to get back to winning ways and get some momentum going in to the play-offs, they've stuttered of late, so now's not the time to be resting players. Also Potter's not going to want to lose to the team he coached previously, I imagine they'll take it seriously and put a full team out.
