| Hi Guys NZ Warrior Fan here.
Looking forward to seeing how Jordan Baldwinson goes over there. After a rough start ( too light for the Juniors here they're monsters ) he fought his way back to catch up with the Other Warriors Jnrs...a couple of days later we hear he is gone.
He will make it one day. I'm not sure about Mason Tonks reports weren't great in local club footy circles, in Auckland ( lads are farmed out to the club comp when they can't make the jnr NRL team ).
It's a weird one if Baldy is going to play first grade , as I say he needs another year or two physical growth wise before he could play Fg at Prop......he might get away with second row.....and that's what he looked like to me.
He's got loose forward written all over him.

Cleanings a tough job, I took it up to pay my University fees. With all that Mop work Florie probably has a useful fend, and the years of bending down to pick stuff up might give her an edge in play the ball speed.
Jordan will probably go ok, he has an outstanding off the ball work ethic. He runs good lines and constantly runs decoys.
It was really unfortunate that the Warriors ( wrongly imo ) chose forwards as the subjects of the Young ESL experiment here.
They mature more slowly (physically ) than the Polynesian kids. The hardest part to fathom was choosing Forwards. Our forward depth is at it's greatest ever. The Warriors are the best in Australasia at that level.
The timing couldn't have been harder for the English lads. The Warriors Juniors dominate their NRL counterparts....and as I say this year there are Prop forwards in that pack averaging 200 meters plus per game.
So I wouldn't make the mistake of assuming Baldwinson and perhaps Tonks too....aren't good enough....at most other NRL Junior set ups they would have fit in.
As Baldwinson himself said " They are All Freaks " .....Jordan was cutting the grade at the end....remarkable.

| Anyone who frequents TotalRL.com will see Mt Smart is a sensible poster. So I suggest take heed?
For Mt Smart: for a period, I used to live on the slopes of One Tree Hill, and could see Mt Smart (and listen to concerts!) out of my windows, before I moved to the North Shore. For some strange reason, I came back here.

Cheers for that Adeybull.
I'm from Auckland , you must have lived on the Southern side of the hill. U2's tribute song of the same name 'one tree hill' gives me shivers....a nice gesture to the family of their Kiwi roadie who died on tour.
North Shores nice too. I live in the Shadow of Eden Park.
I watched the lads play for the Northcote Tigers when they weren't picked for the Warriors NYC side. Not a lot could be gained from watching those games apart from the lads being targeted by some older gnarly types in the Fox Memorial Shield comp.
It was a good experience for them , that comp is rough as guts.

Yes Bono was mates with a Maori guy called Greg Caroll , that's the dude you are reffering to that Took Bono up one tree hill.
Greg was a roadie with U2...Bono forgot something ...left it at home.....Greg borrowed his Motor Bike and went to get it...someone pulled out of a drive way in Dublin as often happens when you're riding....Greg never showed up....the rest is history....Bono found out his mate was killed and wrote the song which was only released on video in NZ nowhere else in the world at the edict of Bono for Gregs family.
Tis a nice story excuse the digression folks. Yes I think Jordan will go ok of the pair.....he is young but has a big future.

| Just seen on tinternet that Wakey have announced that Peter Fox has left the club as they weren't going to give him another deal next year.
Could be worth a shot. He has pace to burn and knows the try line well. Would be nice to get something back from Wildcats but not holding my breath

| I think he's a pretty good winger, offers more pace than our current crop of players.
Has he left them now?

| Fox has already signed for halifax. Dont think we'd have gone for him anyway. we've got four adequate wingers already plus another 3 players that can fill in at a pinch so not a position we're particularly weak in. he might be faster than our existing players but our wingers rarely get ball in a position where pace is a major issue anyway. Better to use what funds are availabe to strengthen in positions we have a genuine shortage in rather than signing someone because their available irrespective of positiion.

| I'm not sure he's that fast nowadays anyway. I think he had lost most of his pace even when he was last coaching us to the championship back in the early 80s. He would be in his seventies now so surprising Salford haven't come in.

| I have to say that pace was an issue when Escare scored Les Cats first try on Saturday, the first try which pretty much set the tone for the game..

I disagree. Gaskell did look unusually sluggish (and has since mentioned he was playing with some effects of an ankle injury) but the problem was the tissue paper "defence" (I sincerely apologise to the word "defence" for abusing it in this context) that let Escare through. Once Escare is through in space like that he's gone. He does it regular against faster players than a fully fit Gaskell.

| That's all true enough, but I wasn't pointing fingers in any particular direction, just making the more general point about speed. Btw, I reckon you may be getting phone calls from tissue manufacturers if you continue with that particular comparison in the public domain Especially if they've actually seen our 'defence'....

Shame he didn't want to stay and would rather be a bench warmer at Hudds than playing regularly for us

Are we still searching? All gone a bit quiet on the recruitment front in recent weeks..
This unfortunately is the problem with short term loan deals. With Pitts looking likely to pick up a ban this week, Kaufusi off back to the Giants and Ferguson who knows.. our pack is looking lightweight and lacking experience once again heading into two crucial matches.

| Got to say What's the point? This just unsettles the squad more. Get a Player for a couple of weeks and lose him when we play his Owner Team, get him back and then lose him because he's Cup tied! This has happened all season so far with different Players. We need a Team of regular Players and have failed miserably to recruit what is needed, or haven't actually tried!
