If my dream of Tony Smith becoming head coach becomes a reality I expect full credit for picking him as the appointment early doors!!

Sadly I don't expect we have the budget to attract somebody like Tony who can really start rebuilding the club with a little bit of finance. I read somewhere that we are still the best supported club in the Championship, well I expect that will also be a thing of the past before too long unless the club can produce something for people to believe in.

Unless Wood has five Aces up his sleeve (then again, who would be surprised by that) Bongser can only see Smith opting for quality, family time.

Should you rub this snout in it, its owner would actually be pleased.

I guess it all swings on Odsal again. The Stockcar malarky is worth ~ £500,000 to the lease owner per annum. So if, and it's a big if, he's got an ace up his sleeve groundwise there's a decent income stream that could be tapped into.

I've said it before the Only reason I can see Nigel wanting to be involved is either a bi into SL via franchising or an Odsal stadium pay day of some form.
Who would want to get involved with a badly performing championship club, that doesn't make any money without any funds to take it forward or improve it in any way.
No offence to the lad but since 2019 we have gone backwards massively and we weren't exactly flying then.

I predicted that Steve McNamara would get the England job and that Lee St Hilaire would be the next Bulls head coach way back in 2009 and I got no credit what so ever so don't expect any.

I know we all are utterly captivated at the pledge Bullseye made about windmilling on top of the Touchdown roof, but the idea of Smith coming to us is so utterly implausible, I reckon he'll be safe. However, if by some miracle Smith did come (and surely he'd only do that with a pledge of thus far unheard of resources being available), then I would demand Bullseye does so in February.

Fair play to Dunning having the balls to drop Crossley in to the reserves. He seemed untouchable under JK regardles of how inept hes been this year.

Dunning talks sense in the interviews and comes across well. Considering some of the disasters post-Noble, who'd swallowed a coaching manual, or wanted to fight the T and A guy, or stuck in 1968, I wish him well. I enjoyed yesterday. It was actually fun.

I'm not advocating for MD but in the absence of a takeover with money, or Tony Smith I say why not?

Clear message sent to the squad if MD has dropped the captain into the reserves. Crossley did the full 80 for the reserves.

London would be a good shout and he has past history there. Owner can see new model not working and with talk of the 2x tens next season I can see their owner spending some brass to get them into the mix.

As for the Tony Smith rumours, unless there is something about to happen like a massive investor coming on board I cannot see happening.

I've made some suggestions to the club recently which would have involved minimal spend (£2k max) and they said they simply couldn't afford it. They Southbank heating is knackered (they have electric plug in heaters when its cold) and pretty much most of the full time staff are working 6 days a week to get by. Even our newly appointed CEO is doing it in a voluntary capacity!!!

How the hell can we seriously afford to bring in Tony Smith or the team that he would want to assemble when we are barely surviving???

People always thought he had a masterplan but this is the guy that brought us Halifax Blue Sox and Andrew Chalmers. Mistakes will be made.

I can see why they're skint with attendances barely above 1k lately. I feel guilty for not going in recent weeks but I couldn't justify the expense if I came home in a bad mood and I can't force family there at gunpoint. It seems others felt the same way. Hopefully Dunning is turning things around and I can get some enjoyment from going again, shame I have to wait weeks for another home game.

As for Henderson I know nothing about his coaching pedigree but he's an enthusiastic bloke. I wish him well.

Dunning's getting the job lets stop messing about

The fact that this post itself isn't melting down now at the fact there isn't even a rumour of a coach coming in, and the "cheap" option is being taken is a worrying sign that nobody cares anymore and the clubs support has been killed off.

look at it this way, a new high profile coach with an overhaul of the enviroment and ethos is a sign the club is planning to progress and grow towards where we once were.

no new coach and keeping MD in place is the cheap option and shows the owners have no ambition and are just there to milk what they can while they can until the crowds drop that far the next admin comes round.

As it stands 2023 Season tickets are a very hard sell.
