| If Warrington are right up against the cap, one wonders whether now would be a good time to see if we can prise a new No6 from them?
And, whaddya know they have a couple that we might target - namely Chris Bridge and Ritchie Myler
Hmmmmm

| As Myler is a bit of a poster boy given the protracted transfer saga before his move, I'd not expect wire to let go of him.
Bridge, however, I believe comes under the homegrown rule for us? He did start with us as a 6 and he always seems to have a good game against us.

| bridge came to us from huddersfield, not entirely sure he managed the 3 years before 21 but would be an interesting option.
Although how would bridge go with being 6 this year and potentially moved back to centre if we signed a more illustrious ooc 6 next year?
Although initially myler seems more out of the picture - king, atkins, monaghan strikes a little as the top 3 centres and briers likely to be the 6 bridge may feel forced out. Unless he has matured a lot he never had the most patience. Also hodgson at full back so he could not slot in there.......

| the problem with bridge is that he wasnt moved on in the first place for football reasons. He left due to off field issues, which I seem to recall have also been an issue at warrington. If he still has the same off field issues, Is he an influence we want round our younger players?. Falls in a similar bracket to paul cooke for me, good on field but potentially very disruptive off field. Thing potter has to look at is does need for a half outweigh the off field stuff.

Whilst I agree with most of that, I think you have to consider that most people do change as they mature. Some don't though, of course!! If he has a different attitude to the one which caused him to move from Hudds and then us, he might be a good capture. As someone else pointed out he always seems to play well against us.

from memory wasnt the reason for us moving bridge on, less to do with his attitude, and more to do with his alleged recreational habits. Something he was still rumoured to be doing as recently as last year on wire board iirc. I'd agree though, provided we were convinced that side of his character was a thing off the past, then he would be a good signing for us. dont think he's likely to be available though.

| I understand that the reason Wire could get Monaghan under the cap is because most of his package is in the form of Image Rights from an "Unconnected Third Party".
I believe its The Canine Defence League...

| Is the reason Monaghan joined the Wolves is because of Wolfie or because Wolves look like dogs?

Tut! Tut!
How low can you get.
(Will people wishing to respond please form an orderly queue and no cutting in line.)
OK I'll start. Think he should have come to Bradford as we need a bit of mongrel in the side.

| Guys the rumor has died, it was TAB Sports Bet that said it was done and all the radio stations got on twitter and reported it to everyone, now they have all retracted the statement lol, and saying Orford is yet to gain a released from Bradford, so looks like this sh#t will continue.
FFS i'm starting to get sick of this crap

| We have some news from a media manager at the Raiders after the rubbish today.
The Raiders position on this situation is that they are awaiting outcomes of discussions between Orfords Manager and Bradford before getting a response to the deal offer to him.
Until this has been resolved there will be no announcement or comment either way regarding his potential signing with the club by the Raiders.

| I can understand both clubs' predicament. It must be very hard for both of them trying to negotiate with a sack of rat droppings.

| Canberra must be desperate.
Fact is someone's going to have to cough up some cash whether it be the Raiders or Orford himself. It looks like we're playing hardball.

The bit about the Bulls owing Awful money in upaid wages is interesting! He wants his cake and he wants to eat it! That could be a choker (intended) in the negotiations!

| Hmm...
This transalates to me possibly as "Bulls did not pay Wnakford after he buggered off home - although we had all assumed he was still being paid; Bulls do not intend to pay Wnakford, even though may well have a liability to; Bulls want transfer/release fee for Wnakford; Item A approximates item B; Bulls Wnakford to drop his claim in exchange for them releasing him for free; Bulls thereby get what they (and the fans) want and either Wnakford or his new club have effectively paid -thats between them."
Given of course that the Oz press is normally the journalistic equivilent of an open sewer, so it could be yet more speculation. This one does seem to have a hint of legs in it, though.
Given that every man and his gerbil now seemingly believes Wnakford had no intention of coming back, and lied to the club to keep his entitlement to salary running while Sack of Rat Droppings looked for a new NRL deal for him, then if my own bit of speculation is right then the club does totally right IMO. If, of course...

| I thought orford asked to be released from his deal, therefore not wanting to play for club anymore and shopped him self around, therefore basically breaking his contract to say he would play for us.
Bradford said ok you can have your release but we want compensation for having to go out and look for another halfback, having to pay agents fees, airfares etc, so are holding onto players registration to play until get said monies owed.
We wont have stopped paying him when went to aus to recuperate as he will have been paid via insurance, when in AUS rather than rehabilitate he was off swanning around behind Bradfords back trying to get himself a gig over there, therefore not doing what was asked of him to get himself fit and playing for us, thus breaking his contract.
As sson as he said i dont want to play for you anymore, Bradford are within their right to stop paying him.
Hope noone pays his release fee and he has to sit out two years unpaid.
