I am neither, there was aggression from both sides as you'd expect, in and outside of the rules. The frustrating thing today was the professionalism in which the Bulls committed minor offences to negate the roll on. Number of penalties you gave away after a Leigh break? Minor consistent offending was only punished when Sijeka was binned for the second time.

I'm getting sick of seeing players sin binned especially after this game. Leigh deserved the win but are beatable, look forward to going up against them at home and hopefully we'll have Blyth back in the then because Chav is definitely not the answer.

No I didn't listen to it on the radio Im on my way back now from Leigh. Almost every Bulls fan on here has said the best team won, myself included, but we didn't see the thuggerish tactics by us that you saw

20-6 up at half time and cruising. It should have been a comfortable win, but what a shocker of a 2nd half. Was obviously Walker was going to be a huge weakness at centre.

Biggest moment for me was the Purtell no try. He got it down every day of the week. And that try would have seen us home, instead ref claimed he was held up and they went length of field to score.

But even then we shouldn't have lost. It was a huge disappointment that 2nd half. Well done to Leigh. Big win for them.

Still think we'll be top 2.

Hope a camera picked up what that little cretin for Leigh (Brierley) did after scoring first try. Disgusting behaviour and then to launch the ball into crowd should have been punished. Managed to get my hand to the ball before it hit the kid sat behind me!!!

Leigh taught us a tough lesson today. We're going to see a lot of these wind up tactics each week and we will need to keep a calm head rather than lose it.

That said, I think the game swung on three pathetic decisions...

1. Purtell scored a perfectly legitimate try, everyone saw it except the officials. Even a Leigh player turned around and mouthed "he had it down" to a team mate!!!
2. Never a high tackle when we forced Leigh into their in-goal. Should have been another set of six, instead we cost cool and they went 80m and scored.
3. Blatant knock on by Leigh. Bulls players stopped but should have carried on until the whistle... Again another six on scoreboard for Leigh.

Overall, I'm not too disheartened. Think it will be our toughest game of the first stage of the league and I think we'll do them at our place and take top spot. Just hope we sort the discipline and injuries out before it's our downfall.

Leigh played spoiling tactics in the first half. They clearly went out to wind up the Bulls players. But they looked a little lost when Bradford stopped getting sucked into the scrapping and tried to play rugby which is why the first half finished 20-6. The trouble was in the 2nd half there were several Bradford players looking to settle scores from the first half instead of concentrating on putting the game to bed. Lack of focus and discipline cost us the win today. I think that there needs to be a few players from today sitting out the Whitehaven game

Rennie I agree with you totally Bradford and especially Chev Walker tried everything to slow the game down , he was Chief moaner as well .For me I agree Cobb should have red carded someone , but the Bull tactics on Professional Fouls really slowed the game down .However you have a star in Gaskell , reminds me a bit of Ryan Brierley , you had a couple of blokes missing today , but so did Leigh , should be a very good season though , can wait for the return game .

Well it was certainly an interesting game of Rugby League! I think we all expected life in the Championship would be quite a bit different to how SL is reffed and I think it is clear to see the players still have some adjusting and learning to do here too. I thought it was pretty clear from the off what Leigh were about and mid way through the 1st half we got suckered in and went away from what we had been doing well to score the early tries. But we regained some composure and again finished the half strongly.

2nd half I think we were our own worst enemies. Yes we're had some poor calls from the officials, Purtell had a legitimate try disallowed and Etu excellent tackle than was adjudged high but out discipline was nowhere near good enough. The 2nd sin binning by Siejka was completely needless and just what we didn't need when we were hanging onto the slim 4 point lead. Credit to Leigh, they scored some quality tries in that 2nd half and I thought they deserved the points over the full 80.

Before the the match it was around about the scoreline I expected, but having built a 20-6 HT lead Lowes will be livid that we threw it away pretty cheaply in my opinion. But it's early days for this team and it will take time for our key players 1,6,7 & 9 to find their feet. Add in a bit of SL experience from Blythe, Lauaki and Ferguson (hopefully) and Im sure the return fixture will be a much tougher proposition for Leigh.

Thouht O'Brien was a real stand out performer for us, exciting to see just how good he can be for us this year! A win would have been nice but there is plenty of bigger matches to come... just happy it has finally begun!

Great game from both sides spoiled in the first half by poor officials Bradford played some great rugby and excellent defence Second half Leigh showed why they where untouchable last season and after cutting out poor disipline and tightened up defensely they blitzed the Bulls with some teriffic rugby ..Well done to the Bradford fans for turning up at the LSV you made for a great Atmosphere and interacted brilliantly before and after the game with the Leythers Ŕespect ..

All in all though I enjoyed the game. As others have said I was expecting a different type of game in the championship and I thought today would be particularly tough.

I think there is real potential in our side though - I think o'brien, Gaskell and Mullaney will cause some real problems.

Tahroui doesn't seem to run his weight but think he needs time.

Chev isn't a centre but Blythe and Baille will help with that.

A really intense game that could have gone either way.

We looked a bit rusty in places and they looked far more settled and comfortable. I don't think there is any point moaning about Leigh trying to provoke us. I assume most clubs will be using that as a potential leveller this season. That being said I thought our discipline was shocking today. Sjeika's second sin binning was ridiculous and amateurish. He gave the referee no other option.

Half time came at the wrong time for us. We were on a real roll during those final 10 minutes and Leigh were out on their feet. We also appeared to run out of gas in the final 5 minutes and Leigh managed to exploit some really poor tackling on the right hand side. Will Walker get a look in when Blythe and JPB are fit?

If that's the benchmark this year, we aren't too far off. I'm looking forward to the return fixture at Odsal.

Leigh were today missing Spencer and Sarsfield as well as Platt , Johnny Walker and Ben Reynolds , I know we cant play them all ,as for Bradford ?To many niggling players especially Walker and Siejaka or whatever his name is , I thought Gaskell was your best player , but definitely a second to Ryan Brierley .Good game though .

Re: The Purtell non-try, the ref wasn't quick enough to keep up with the play when it was scored and was too far away IMO. Have in goal officials been disposed of?

Also MoiMoi will run riot against some of the smaller packs this year.

Was Walker at centre for the full 80 then? Did Ulugia get much game time? If so, how did he do?
I'm not sure what it says for the likes of Henry, Ulugia and Shaw when Chev Walker is being picked before them to play as a centre.
Jimmy tried Chev out as a centre last season against Catalans at home (I think) and he was shocking. So why is he still persisting with playing him there?
Is it because he is captain now? Or is it Jimmy with more (ex) Leeds bias?

Stop moaning lots of players throw the ball into the crowd .If you knew Ryan you would know he's first rate and not a nasty bone in his body .If he had hit anyone he would be the first to apologise .

While there was a few bits from leigh players that I think we can do without (rubbing it in after a mistake etc...) can't really say we were thuggish and claim all bulls players were angels. It was a Bradford player that threw first punch for the double sin bin, and the late challenge on Barlow could've been a red. The last sin bin was sheer stupidity.

Can't really comment on the Purtell try, was at the other end, but I was relieved! But there were 2 or 3 professional fouls from Bradford that went unpunished as well.

Overall, Bradford only have themselves to blame. Can't lose from a 20-6 lead and have any excuses.

I've heard Chev Walker is Jimmys brother in law and that's why he gets picked.
