| I'm beginning to think that we might not have enough to stay up this year. I'm thinking relegation is becoming a serous possibility. I hope we can turn it around before it's too late.

How low will it go before this season (thankfully) ends?

| Well, that was a good £15 spent today - not ! I thought it would be at least a good arm wrestle for the points after watching last week, but we reverted to type very quickly. The Bulls looked good value for their lead and seemed to be controlling the game as Batley gave away a few penalties which we capitalised on. But after the departure of Sironen, the team visibly collapsed as Batley got on a roll. However, I doubt that even the most cynical of Bulls fans would have betted that Batley would put 44 points past the team. It was the worst capitulation from a Bradford team I've seen all season, and I've been at most games home and away.
It's now time to let a few of the younger players step up to the mark, as they need blooding, and its clear that Toovey's message of pride and contracts to play for simply hasn't been understood by this team.

| I've already paid but didn't go, and have lost almost all interest. I'm not a bit surprised to read the reports about the way we played, and don't forget some if the players are actually suing us. Relegated before the comp even started, nobody should be surprised at the state we're in, the season should be cancelled or else someone should have the decency to throw the towel in. These farces aren't doing anybody any good.

| Absolutely no excuses for today's capitulation. Annual seasons awards dinner should be won by the supporters who still turn up and pay to watch not players wearing the shirt but obviously don't have any understanding of what it should mean to wear it. Also interested to see referee Robert Hicks stood in front of us supporting Batley, even he was embarrassed at what was served up by the idiot with a whistle.

| Spent £30 to watch that. Doubt I will do that again this season. Embarrassing to say the least. It became laughable at the point Smith aimed a pass at someone only for it to result in a try. Then the club have the gall to push £45 a head tickets for the end of season bash. It should be cancelled on a point of principle.

| Well my last game this season was the horror show away at Dewsbury. I'll go to support the U19s but many of the 1st team aren't worth the time and expense.

| I'm not usually one for having a go at players, but yesterday's game was full of bizarre oddities on both sides. Having not been for a few months, I thought we started brightly, which was completely at odds with what I'd read and seen.
What was completely odd is once Batley stopped with needless agression they played some pretty decent rugby (which begs the question, why bother with those tactics to begin with). Yet when Batley played, heads went down immediately and the Bradford that knew how to play rugby suddenly forgot how to do even schoolboy stuff. The try with the mix up at fullback must rank among the most embarrassing we've ever conceded.
I think the most frustrating thing about the ref was when he gave the penalty against us for not playing the ball properly, only for Batley to score off the next set without playing the ball properly. Always think that's a weird penalty as it either must be absolutely blatant or the ref tends to use it as a "leveler". Not sure which it was yesterday.

| As Toovey said at the forum the reffing might not be very good but many of the refs are inexperienced and thrust into the spotlight far too early. Often they're way out of their depth. The Dewsbury away match where Keyes was taken out and Thomas assaulted being a case in point.
We're so low on confidence that anything that goes against us is a trigger for heads to drop. It's the losing culture that's to blame.

There is absolutely a crisis in RL reffing in this country. Rugby League World mag published a good article about a few months back, and while it never properly touched on the rumours that have dogged some of the premature retirees from the reffing world, what was eye opening were the comments about people being fast tracked.
I think until a ref gets to Championship level, nobody from the RFL looks at your performance, so any analysis was done by the ref themselves. Jamie Bloem said one of the reasons he quit being a ref was that quite often he saw vastly under qualified people being fast tracked up the leagues because they hadn't admitted any mistakes in their post match debriefs. Bloem himself would have said "Oh I messed up here, but here is a reason why" and then he'd get punished for it which is surely counter intuitive to the learning process. Personally I think that is bordering on scandalous if true.
Anyway, totally agree. The phrase "losing culture" is a good one, and what I saw yesterday were all the hallmarks of a side that was deep in one.

| A fear I had going into this season was that by being forced to compete in the championship with a C1 quality side would be disastrous for the development of our younger players. So it's proved. Thank you RFL.

| I can't believe so many are still turning up to watch this side! I mean, I know some have already paid up front but I think I'd have cut my losses by now and found something a little more enjoyable to do with my afternoon!

| I'm sceptical that those attendance figures are actually including real people in the ground. I'd estimate they actually include season ticket holders whether they turn up or not. I'd estimate actual numbers of paying spectators in the ground have dropped below 1500 at least.

| One of the most telling incidents yesterday was when Ricketts was being roughed up on the ground after being tackled into touch, and only Sam Hallas (who's still only 20) stood up and stuck up for his teammate. The lack of heart was really disappointing yesterday. I don't want to see Macani, Mendeika or C. Smith in a Bulls shirt again.
Play Butterworth, Lumb, Hodgson. At least they'll have a dig.

| One of our major problems this season has been [itoo many[/i kids in the side. The youngsters need decent pros alongside them to keep them on track and to protect them, not more kids. The youngsters have done their best, but they've been let down, far too many times, by their more experienced colleagues. The answer is to change the experienced players, not throw more kids to the lions.

| I went (first time this season too) and was impressed in the first few minutes. as the game went on our back-row was seriously out muscled and they were much smaller than their opponents so it wasn't too hard to see why. no real heart in defence and we knocked on over the line a couple of times and bombed a couple of (seemingly) easy scoring chances after breaking.
our 3/4 line isn't good enough for this level and the shambles where Batley went for the 40-20 and we gifted them a try was probably the most embarrassing moment I've seen at Odsal in my 20+ years of watching them.
Hallas was our best player yesterday, was impressed with his attitude. I also like Aston. He needs to bulk up a bit but looked useful behind a well beaten pack.

Changing the experienced players? I expect Toovey would love to do that. I suspect there aren't any to turn to and that's why the same hopeless cases keep getting picked.
It'll be the same story for our remaining games. I can only hope we change the experienced players ready for 2018 or it'll be the same story next year.

| I though Aston probably had his best game for us yesterday and looked very lively. When the forwards never really got on top at any stage it's hard for the halves, especially when we never seem to play the same pair in consecutive matches.
I thought Halafihi tried hard and got stuck in defensively though it's hard to be very positive about anything after a shambles like yesterday. Even James Bentley succumbed to low level thinking when twice, he had Rickett unmarked outside him and with the line beckoning he dived into the tacklers instead of giving the pass. You sort of know the day is going to be a disaster when even our better players are putting in efforts like that.

That is exactly my point. My post was aimed at those suggesting that throwing more academy lads into the side is somehow going to provide an answer - it isn't.

| I think we're desperate and a bit sick of seeing the same culprits making the same mistakes. Like you I'd be reluctant to throw ever more kids in - especially versus Rochdale.

My point was more for the remaining games. Mendeika & Macani are more experienced than most of the squad, but i wouldn't have them near the team for the rest of the season. When Rochdale are bullying us again, Lumb & Butterworth would stand up to them and show more fight than either of those 2.
