We can't keep every player we develop through our system.

I don't see him being anything more than a fairly ordinary 2nd rower at SL level to be honest.

Scruton does sound like he genuinely believes that we could win them all and make the play-offs.

I would be, he's a good dependable player, he tackles strongly, he's commited, and he's homegrown. I'd be happy for any of Cook, Donaldson, Whitehead or Olbison to play, they are all our homegrown players and I want to see them all develop at this club.

Like Cook's attititude and enthusiasm. Nice lad, met him at Perpignan and in the Castleford camp at MM Cardiff.
Been given 3 seasons to prove himself at the Bulls and never quite come off.
Thought he might have become a centre as his history was originally wing/centre.

I've always liked Cook and can't help but feel that if we'd had a coach that had any idea about bleeding players into th first team then he'd have progressed better. Most of his appearances off the bench have resulted in him playing 5 minute spells, it's rediculous. If Crapnamara continues to use this tactic then there won't be many players making a successful step up from the junior ranks IMO.

We particularly don't need this at a time where we've not got many enthusiastic and agressive players. Shame.

Exactly my thoughts. Give him time & a regular spot he will definitely be useful first 17 player. Every time I've seen him he seems to try too much. I suppose he always heas the option of the dark side.

Looking at the young guys coming through, there's enough there to comfortably replace him IMO. In addition the salaries of the youngers lads will be far less than the deal Cook is currently on.

Yes, McNamara hasn't done at all well bringing players like Kopzcak, Burgess and Halley along.

Cook just isnt quite good enough to cement a first team spot. Can't have journey men if we're ever going to be any good again.

Kopzcak and Halley got the opportunity to get game time elsewhere by being loaned out. Cook didn't.

he's not really a bradford lad though and came from RU in the first place so I don't think I'd be that gutted to see him go.

I wonder where Halley would be if he hadn't had a decent run at Wakey. If Cook had continued with his decent run at Cas I feel he could have established himself. Kopzcak is nearly 23, hardly a kid.

Cook is 22, Halley is 22.

Cook's never really fulfilled the hype that was around when he first came. I remember how it was trumpeted that we'd beaten off the challenge of all and sundry to sign him - but he's not really progressed as hoped.

I feel he's a decent SL standard second rower who doesn't seem likely to progress much more with the Bulls. Because he's bulked up he isn't an option at centre, and he doesn't really have anything outstanding as a Second Rower to put him above a number of others

I think he's just going to be one of those players who benefits from a change of club. Maybe a fresh start somewhere else is what his career needs?

I suspect we are more in the "what should the settlement be" phase, to be honest. For the tax aspect at least.

But what may well be more interesting is just what cans of worms the HMRC enquiries may have unearthed along the way, and what the response of the RFL will be if it transpires that some clubs have been a tad selective in their disclosures? Of course, I have no idea whatsoever whether this is the case, and if so which clubs are implicated. No, really. Although I do have it on high authority Bulls have nothing to worry about. Could go down to the wire for some other clubs if rumour has any foundation, mind.

So what are the RFL likely to do?
Salary cap infringements=points deduction surely?
