Adey i often read this forum for updates as a concerned outsider, i want you guys to survive and sympathise as a wakefield fan (no really i do) but sometimes i think you all just put these kind of comments on out of embarrassment. If you're a Wakefield fan then you are in no position to complain. If Bradford are bought out of admin then it is no different to what happened to Wakefield. Wakefield received a 4 point deduction, yet you are demanding that Bradford receive more punishment?

As for Davy, I wonder whether - in the long run - these very wealthy benefactors, who bankroll clubs for millions sometimes every year, are actually doing the sport any good in the long term? We are ending up with a batch of clubs that would go bust immediately if their owners withdrew, that are nowhere near standing on their own. At least Bulls managed throughout the first 16 years of SL to stand on their own, without a mega-rich owner. That is some achievement when set against our contemporaries. The Great Recession was always going to hit hardest those clubs that were having to stand on their own.

Completely agree with you on this but my point is that this 'more than we can afford cap' is different to the official salary cap the OP referred to.

Yep Trin certainly went bust due to spending too much (though god knows how with the squad we had) on team and backroom(i suspect the backroomicon_wink.gif). there was also incredible mismanagement i mean 2 years ago try to get a season ticket deal or shirt and you may as well have tried voodoo to become a foot taller.

i do have sympathy with them. This whole thing is like trying to decipher cuneiform. They were wrong to ask for a greater points reduction (although i have memory of sl saying the points reduction would be doubled after trin and crusaders last year) but i think the spirit of them asking why bulls can spend so much over what they can aford with only a 6 point reduction has a lot of resonance with a lot of people in and out of RL.

Salary cap hasn't been broken. Iirc we are either 10% or 100k under salary cap to allow for an emergency mid season signing.

Thought PH said the late signings of Joseph and KP took us near enough up to the cap?

He clarified it in one of the articles around easter time. Guess his definition of close to the cap and ours are maybe a little different.

What happened to the 'running' cap, whereby all signings are checked by the RFL before being ratified? If this is still current, it's (presumably) not possible to go over the cap.

Note to fans of other clubs: Why are you on here? If you have a problem with the RFL decision take it up with them. If it's with SLE, take it up with the other clubs. Is it really surprising that Bulls fans want to see their side continue in SL? Wouldn't you be the same if the roles were reversed?
