| Good team effort. Some brutal hits going in. Nice work for each of our tries. Burgii took some stopping. Good stint as captain by Platty, he must now be a candidate for the armband for the rest of the season.

| Glenn Hall looks to me like he could be another Danny Gartner.
I think the thing that stood out most for me about the new Aussies, was that they need some time with their new teammates before they're going to really show what they can do. The mistakes that did happen looked a lot like either rust or just not being used to playing with those players. I think given a bit of practice, they could all work out quite well.
The kids played well in the second half. In attack particularly, Donaldson & Horton both performed very well.
As I said earlier too, Reardon played very well in the first half before being subbed at half time. If he continues to play like that, that's one wing position sorted imo. Unfortunately, with the exception of one break which he did well, Sheriffe had a bit of a 'mare.
As far as the RedAmberandBlack sponsored Burgii go, all I can say, is bloody hell they're huge. Both of them were about 3 times bigger than any other player on the pitch. Except width-wise when it came to Widders.....

| I think George Burgess is a freak of nature. I can't my head around the fact he's only 17! I also liked his agression.
I thought the first team looked quite good in the first half. Platt looked good at centre and his break set up by L'estrange to put Halley over was good and he could have passed either way as the support from Sheriffe was there as well.
Glenn hall is going to be brilliant in Super League. Once they've played a few more games they'll settle in nicely.
Can't waitto see Orford and Kearney together. I was abit sceptical of Kearney playing in the halves but he looks a live wire and likes to take the line on.

We did have all young players in the second half, with the only exception being Platt.
However Castleford's team was heavily depleted, so don't read much into it. No Owen, Dixon, Shenton, Sherwin, Sargent, Hudson, Ferres, Westerman, Jones, Jackson or McGoldrick.

| We look like a different team already. It's always hard to tell in the pre-season friendlies because that's when you try out different ideas and combinations. Things will look a lot differernt with Matty Orford in the team I'm sure.
One thing for 2010 is certain if today is anything to go by. Our team will be very different from the 2009 vintage!

I heard that after outrunning the bradford team to score a length of the field interception last season, matterson made widders eat 3 full english breakfasts on boxing day morning to give the bradford players a chance at stopping him.

Quote "I was pleased with all aspects of the game. We had some good physical contact and it gave us a chance to look at some combinations. I thought we started slowly but grew in confidence as the half went on and put some good football together. It was really tempting to stick with the starting line up in the second half but we didn't make a substitution in the first forty minutes and I stayed true to my intentions and we were rewarded with some fine displays that augur well for the future of this organisation."'"

Looked like he'd been eating them every bloody morning since that try last year. The bloke was huge. Still, it brought quite a laugh from our fans when he was announced as your man of the match.

His size has never stopped him doing anything asked of him though, he's not a 10 minute player like feka, he did 80 mins for us many times last season, and his suprising pace got us plenty of tries last season. widders is too fat in the same way menzies is too old ie he isnt.
i thought he had a very good game yesterday, especially considering he was out of position, scored a try, would have set another up if we hadnt knocked on over the line, and proved a good leader for the young uns.
Which cas player would you have given the mom award to?

He does do well for a fat lad, I won't deny. I'm still amazed though that he manages to last as long as he does, as the bloke really is up there with Feka. Credit to him for it though.
I honestly don't know who was your MOM. Part of the laughing may also be the whole "it goes to a home team player regardless of result" bit (which is the same anywhere), but I think it was also because people had been laughing at Widders all the way through. In all honesty, I didn't recognise enough players in your side to give a decent idea of who was the best, since it's difficult to pick someone out of a team you don't recognise about 8 of them. Chase seemed dangerous to me, but again, he could have stood out purely based on the fact I knew who he was.

| I thought Widders had a good game but he looked very out of shape and struggling for breath at times. He won't be lasting 80 mins of SL in 2010 unless he puts in the work over the next month.

We said the same at the begining of last year, but he managed to prove us all wrong.

| Agree that Widders deserved his MOM from the Cas players on display.
And yes, its reasonable that a Cas player would win such award made by Cas.
