What Cas tend to do is name a pretty good squad to get people to turn up. Then on game day alot of the senior members of the squad drop out due to 'illness' and the kids play.

TBF To MG ,we had Mr Hicks in our brief stay in NL1 and he wasn't very good but as you infer llets give the guy a chance

Decent squad announced from the Bulls, maybe suggesting we're approaching things a little different this year? Hopefully this will encourage a decent crowd so both clubs make a bit of coin out of it.

Anyone know why Nero isn't in the squad ?

I'm surprised any Australians are to be honest. I was expecting them to all be home for Christmas.

They are proffesional sportsmen, christmas is bang in the middle of pre season, it would be very unprofessional to go home!!

It may be a nice gesture though considering they're friendlies. I appreciate it's their job and everything, and their immediate families will be here with them, but I'm sure in future Aussies have been home at Christmas and come back shortly after.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it should be a given, just that I would have thought with it not being a super important game, they might be home for it.

(Note: when i say a nice gesture, I'm not saying the club hasn't offered them. For all I know, they may have done and the players decided to stay).

There certainly does seem to be a genuine buzz around the place.....more so than the usual stuff that's publically spouted.

Hopefully this positivity will continue to breed across the club, fans included (even you ME!

). This in turn should make for a good season on the field. Everyone believing in each other can make a huge difference, as those of you who have played any team sport will know!

That is what happens when there are no play-off games for them.

I believe, but could be wrong that Chris had a shoulder op at the end of the season. Probably went on the side of caution and decided against it at this point.
