I'm all for a bit of biff. Senior shouldnt have been banned, but JJB's tackle was very dangerous.

Terry Monster - don't talk cr@p about Senior, he broke the rules of the game and deserves punishing. The fact that he has played SL for what seems like an eternity would suggest he'd have some indication of what those rules are, even if he does have the mental capacity of a sponge. I'm sure most people like to watch a "hard game" but there's no place for fighting on a rugby pitch.

He was punished. He got a yellow card at the time. That was enough for me, they even acknowledged in the disciplinary hearing that the punch was in retaliation to something Wilkin said.

What I meant by that was, that is why a yellow card was a better punishment than a red or a ban. If he's just chinned him for no reason, then yeah he needs a ban. If it was in retaliation though, there's a little more cause for it, and a lesser punishement is required. No way did I mean though that he shouldn't be punished at all.

Yes there is, that's why large numbers of fans get excited when a fight breaks out.

Had a teacher at my school who had worked at a "bad boy" school. You just didn't mess about in his Physics lessons - that aside he was a tremendous bloke.

Last I heard they'd decided he "didn't fit in with modern schooling methods" . . . . which is a bloody shame because he helped a stack of kids sort themselves out and become better citizens. A good leathering never did me any harm, never did me any harm



Wherever you are now Mr A, I hope you know how many kids you truly helped and how many now appreciate what you taught us all.

Interestingly, the physics teacher at my High School was a similar type. Big chap, superb teacher and the only guy I knew who could make physics interesting to me (at least in chemistry you could make a load of mischief, and in biology put the skeleton in erotic poses and fire maggots out of the gas taps. All you could do in physics was plug everything into everything else in the power packs and watch them melt...). Anyway, I remember once three of the school yobbery doing something wrong, and disappearing over to the bushes other side of the playing field. Said teacher stormed over, and dragged two back by their ears and the third by his tie - all by himself. I kid you not!

Quite right too. IMO he was lucky to get away with one game, don't know what he was thinking trying to appeal. Then again JJB is a little 'special' as Barrie Mac once put it.

I think the appeal was based on it being the first time he was up against the disciplinary panel. Claiming a previous good record should mean he gets away without a ban. Apparently though the good record was why he only got 1 match instead of more.
