| Quote ="debaser"What happened with Worrincey scapping? I rather boringly was watching the game. Did someone say something to him? He was rather cross though.
An enjoyable game. Thought the "young uns" stood up really well today. Whitehead and Olbison looked strong and I was impressed by Addy.
The Dewsbury 33 was a very angry young man wasn't he? He did seem to go missing a bit when Scruton and co were on the hunt though...'"
Worrincy made the tackle, something had been said to him in the ruck, didn't like it, dewbury man played the ball, Worrincy had words at first marker, and pushed him then more words were said to each other, Dewsbury man walked away with Worrincy going after him and then Worrincy slapped him on the back of the head then it started a scuffle, and when Scruton came in the numpty was nowhere to be seen. Have to say though i enjoyed LE'strange's ironic clapping at the Dewsbury man who layed a massive hit on Platt and started shouting at him on the deck clapping his hands only to be penalised so LE'strange picks him out and starts giving him a round of applause for giving away a penalty with the biggest smile on his face! Loved it.

| Good game and all the boxes ticked, clean sheet, good run out for the kids and injury free (hopefully).
I believe Worrincy's reaction was against something that was said to him rather than the tackle, I just hope it wasn't a racist remark. Either way he seemed fired up and had a good game.
Hall was my man of the match and he's getting better every game, Scruton was also on top form and between them they kept Dewsbury's two 'high tackling fatties' under control.

| In the tune of here we go. The whole stand got it going. Have to say the chant of the day was "What's it like to see a crowd" pushed close by "You only sing when you're losing".

| Nice to see some aggression from Worrincy, he seemed to channel in the right way too! Wish the opposition would wind him up a bit more often, although he certainly looked very upset by whatever was said to him.
I was pleased with the young guys, I think people like Addy and Olbison could step in for short spells this year if needed during the season. McNamara will be pleased that we kept them scoreless, which is a tremendous effort regardless of the opposition.
Not obvious injuries picked up either, so a good afternoons work all round. I always enjoy going to Dewsbury, I hope the club give serious consideration as a temporary home if we ever see some diggers at Odsal.

In the tackle, as Worrincey got up he looked to have his forearm across the tackled guy's neck and pushed himself up from there, I thought. Dunno if that agitated the other guy a bit?
Hall today was "The Rig" we'd heard about. Him and Scrutes will have left a few sore bodies behind today, I think?

| Worrincy screamed in a slightly high pitched girly voice 'what?' so I think it is safe to assume his offence was due to what was said.

Indeed. I was merely suggesting a possible cause for whatever was said.
"girly"?

| I think that it was something that was said, the players seemed to be passing things along the line and as soon as it got to one of them (Hall i think) they went straight over to the ref. Worrincy also pointed things out to the ref and was making himself very known with whatever was said. The tackles that went into that guy after as well said a lot. If it was anything along the lines of a racist comment then I think the club should make a matter out of it and make the point that it isn't something we accept in our game.

| What ever it was Lockwood said to Worrincy, assuming some form of racial abuse it certainly sparked him up, hopefully he will keep his game at that level now and improve on it!
All credit to Dewsbury for keeping going and not letting their heads drop despite them getting niggly in the last 15 mins. If this kickstarts their season well and good. They made the Bulls play for the full 80 and in some ways didn't deserve to be nilled.
But looking forward to cheering Robbie and Booing Slackjaw in the next round!

Guess we'll never know what was said mate, whatever happened it didn't go down well!
Yeah Hall is turning into a cracking player, his defense is solid and as his confidence is growing he's getting better and better going forward, it's nice to have a forward with a good offload as well. As you say there'll be a few sore Dewsbury players tomorrow.

| Anyone else think Crookes went really well, especially in the 2nd half?
He's fast, showed good strength at times and also has a decent step. Hopefully should get some more game time if one of the backs loses form.
I was impressed with all of the youngsters today and they certainly didn't look out of their depth.

I was impressed with him as well. He did well against Wigan too. In fairness, Dewsbury were not exactly SL standard (except for second half effort and enthusiasm, where they set a cracking example). But, as you say, all the younger lads went really well. I very much liked the look of young Addy, and Olbison looked like he would not look out of place with more time in the first team too.
All those who slate Macca might want to reflect a bit on some of the upcoming talent we saw today, and consider whether we are maybe seeing his youth development programme really starting to bear serious fruit?

No. I think he's fairly average, he lacks imagination and is never looking for support players to pass to.
Out of all the youngsters I have seen play he has impressed me the least.

Here here to that. Whitehead has just been immense all year in my eyes, never has looked out of place. Need to tie him down to a long-term contract, same with Scruton. Both of these have been stand-out performers for me this season, really kicked on from last year.

And mine. The lad is likely on only a very modest contract package. We need to keep this guy. Young player of the year contender, maybe? And if Scruton does not get an England call-up then something is badly wrong IMO.

| Personally thought it was a good run out for the guys who played. I was extremely pleased that the game was over as a contest at h/t as it allowed us to rest a few of the old guard of Beaver and Ox, whike giving the fringe and youngsters a real opportunity to show us what they are made of.
I was surprised how big Addy was considering he's known as a s/o or loose. Olbison looks to have bulked up too compared to his brief cameo last year.
Steady away really. SL players showing their superior fitness and ability. Hall probably had his best game for us, but don't think anyone will force their way into the team for next week who would be unexpected to play.

| I did overhear someone near the pitch saying they thought they heard Worrincy use the word "race" when talking to the ref, but that could just be a case of Chinese whispers, so wouldn't say it means owt. Whatever it was, Worrincy wasn't happy. He followed Lockwood, who then babbed himself and tried to make an exit.
Shortly after, Turner put a fair big hit on Platt but ruined it by getting in Platt's face on he floor. Worrincy again got involved and pushed the guy away. Numerous times, Bulls players seemed to tell Worrincy to calm down.
Part of the problem was that, by this point, Dewsbury had started with the cheap shots and the ref was just letting it go. That caused the Bulls players to try and take the law into their own hands. If the ref had dealt with it earlier, it wouldn't have flared up like it did. Unfortunately, he was largely spineless.
Oh and I notice the score updates seem somewhat echoey of my Twitter Where's my credit? :p

| Job done, really, so what i'll just say is it took me back many years, did that, to days when the Northern regularly went on tour in 't Cup to places like Dewsbury, Barrow, Whitehaven, Rochdale and other small tight 'community' grounds, where you are almost on the pitch; and where the few fans do really love their League. It's sad in some ways that you also saw why a club like Dewsbury could just never be a SL club, the gulf is just immense, but I hope clubs like them go on forever, it's what the game is all about. Brilliant day out, and also despite being under sever pressure and comprehensively beat, what about the resolve in the Dewsbury defence in the second half? Especially after the pounding they'd taken first half? Just superb.
My only gripe - we kicked for touch and it was deffo my ball to catch, I shouted for it, but the guy 2 seats to my left reached up and knocked on, the basstard.
Oh, and just how fat was that pot bellied in-goal judge?

There's not too many imaginative moves a winger can pull really. He carried the ball up well, defended well, he's fast & strong and imo could well be a good winger/centre in the future.

| Shame you nilled us it would have been just the ticket for us to have points on the board after the way we have been playing recently. Personally I was pleased you guys showed a decent representation of your 1st team, not often a club like ours get the chance to put ourselves against established top flight players.
I was a little worried at half time and could see the ton coming second half, but thought we defended well that period, I remember at least 3 or 4 sets right on our line where you didn't cross the whitewash, for us that took some doing as we seem to give in to much lesser sides in that position.
No doubt you will be please with not conceding?
Good luck in the next round, Leigh are a strong side this year, Oh and just watch your step if you get drawn to Barrow round after!

| Some cracking performances. As has been mentioned above I am chuffed with Whitehead and mystified by the whole worrincy lark. When he became fired up the woman at the side of me who had been slating him from the very first minute, went into overdrive and seemed to suggest he was the antichrist.
Speaking of daft Bulls fans, I was next to the poor Dewsbury bloke who, after being bated over and over again, finally snapped and began wading up the terraces for a fight. My advice to Bulls fans is to leave the poor sods with a bit of dignity instead of ripping them to bits. Some of the Dewsbury fans with a chest full of pride were a bit gobby and saddened to see their team being crushed. Hardly suprising - so whoever you are big man, you could have left it alone I would have thought instead of causing ill will. Rant over.
