Who said he's not performing for the 20's? Maybe he's just building his fitness to get back to the first team squad. We are desparately missing creativity from half at the mo...give him a go, and if it dont work drop him back to reserve grade>

Well since it came from Kyle himself that he's been fit for a few weeks and is just finding it hard to get back in the team, I'd take that as gospel personally.

So if we accept that as the truth, then I'm afraid I agree with Red, he's not showing it in his games for the U20s. Maybe it's a confidence thing, I don't know, but he's hardly setting the game alight at the lower level.

Kyle Briggs is a young bloke who is making the step up without a full preseason. He had a proper day job up to 3 days before the Lazagrotty warm weather trip. He just isn't up to speed yet (judging on what I've seen of him in the 20's).

Which is all the more reason to bring orford back until the end of the season should he be dropped by Canberra.

From what i've seen of Briggs i have been impressed. Good kicking game, speed and slight of hand and a turn of pace...

I understand that he is making the step up from a lower division but is that not also the case with Royston? he has'nt had to prove himself in the 20's...

Briggs in for me at Salford with Kearney going to Full Back (and staying there) lets see how he goes!

The biggest difference is that Royston arrived in time for a full pre-season training stint whereas Briggs didn't. That said, Briggs has played OK for me when he's pulled the shirt on.

He's only played 80mins of SL IIRC. Bit early to make a judgement.

I might be completely wrong on this so please feel free to shoot me down - but wasn't Royston full time at Halifax? Briggs wasn't at Featherstone in fact they announced that he signed for the club and packed his job in about 3 days before the trip to Lanzarote.

Yeah, I know he's hardly played, but he was Ok, like everyone else he was feeling his way amongst a shed load of new people. There was nothing about his performance screaming out to say he ought to be dropped after recovering from the injury though.

Yeah, more reason to play him in a game like Salford; winnable, and a side in somewhat disarray.

It also says "after fully recovering from etc" which suggests that was the only reason for not playing previously.

Not returning from injury, but after missing out. But then a players judgement of whether they are completely over an injury and the coaches are likely to differ, maybe Mick was being cautious last week. But it is pretty clear that he is fit to play this week (barring injury before the game!!!)

Wasn't Briggs in the squad last week then? He certainly warmed up, in what appeared to be full kit, before the game at the KC.

He wasn't named in the 19, but you're right he warmed up as 18th man.
