| OMG i cant beleive whats happening on these threads people wanting to boycott game one i'll tell you what boycott all the games if you want, i for one am a bulls fan through and through. if the deal for orford falls through because of walker do we really want deacon back im sure there are a good few scrum halves out there to ply the money in to. Even if walker is right would he now relish coming to us because im sure he wont be made to feel welcome.. Orford will be here, it may cost us in the long run but he will be here.. Even if he dosent come I SUPPORT THE BULLS No matter what

What a ridiculous post.
99% of us will be there next season no matter what. If we have to sign Paleaasina to play SH i'll be watching, but i'll be looking out for Walkers face especially when i'm tipsy.

Good for you. It was only one person going on about a boycott IIRC. I don't think he'll be back.

| I feel the supporters are owed some sort of explanation. A simple no comment is not good enough from Hood. Without the supporters the club would not be what it is today and many of us have been around since long before Hood took an interest.
I think the board at Odsal sometimes treats its supporters with utter contempt and issues such as this should not be left to speculation unless there is something genuine to hide.
A good couple of days has passed now since this story broke and I am sure Hood and co have known about it much longer so there has been ample time to check any legal issues and send reassurring noises...unless of course they are still using the same lawyer who dealt with the Harris transfer!

what he owes the fans is to do the best by the team , telling all to the papers before a possible court case would not be doing that. as much as we'd all like to know whats going off , id rather wait than have us scr3wed before we start.

| Should the club be found to be guilty once again then that is totally unacceptable. How hard can it be, you have signed the full level of your quota or you haven't.
We should be enjoying the moment of a great signing not wondering if it is indeed a legal transfer.

I'm not sure that it was their point, but MQBlank makes a good point, everything that Duffy, Hood, McNamara etc do should be what best benefits the Bulls. What we as fans should be concerned with is the results on the field (and quite rightly be upset when we fall from play-offs contention), but it's the Bulls heirarchy who are paid to make the big decisions. We're not always going to be made privvy to the inner goings-on at the club, to an extent we have to take it on good faith that they're making the best decisions they can based on the situation at the time.

Looks bad for us - even if Walker has no leg to stand on it does not send a good message to future potential signings. I am surprised Hood acted in this way (if true), just shows the determination to improve the team at all costs after this poor season.'"
This is bad publicity, and that is what the Bulls don't need any more of
Walker is a proven trouble maker, he has been reprimanded at the majority of his previous clubs:
He's had alcohol bans imposed by the Roosters
In August, 2006, Walker was dropped by Melbourne Storm and was not picked up by any other NRL club.
He subsequently signed for the Gold Coast Titans after a number of successful trial games, although he was suspended after it was later revealed that Walker had been suffering from alcoholism and an anxiety disorder
What club in their right mind would touch a player like that?
Why are the Bulls club involved in such a fiasco?
I personally hope that the Bulls do get back to their previous glories, but before they do, something urgently needs shaking up in the management department, as the powers that be, clearly don't know their ar5e from their elbow

May be just worth noting that none of the directors, who are the ones "paid" to make the big decisions, actually get paid a penny by the club.
That is not offered by way of any excuse, btw. I'm keeping my powder dry regarding who should be stood against the wall and shot until we (maybe) get to find out the whole facts.

If he has had visa sponsorship number since august why hasn't he got a visa. Without a visa he can't fulfil his part of any alleged contract and given his record obtaining a visa will not be straight forward.

But Orford wasn't available until after we'd progressed with Walker, so what are you saying, that the board shouldn't have even bothered trying to attract Orford to the club? Or should they have used a time machine to find out that Orford would become available?

I'd assume either the visa has been rejected or the contract states that it doesn't come into effect until his visa is granted.

As you say, if Walker was sure that he had a contract then why had he not applied for his visa? Especially since Orr's other client, Kearny (who we are told by Orr got his contract documents at the same time as Walker) clearly did as he is flying over to the UK now!

The press reports suggest that he was otherwise occupied getting married, perhaps he thought he had approval to come over a little later because he was getting hitched and therefore didn't apply until later. As far as I can tell he doesn't have any criminal convictions, despite his reputation, nor is there anything pending, so I don't think the visa issue will be pivotal.

| If we end up paying substantial compo to Walker then that will have been a bad move, but there's no reason to conclude that we will.
If we end up with Orford and don't have to pay anything to Walker, then whilst stringing Walker along and then dropping him when better became available may on the face of it seem hard nosed, I want the Board to be hard nosed. It's business. Life's tough.
Do any who think we should be impersonating Mother Theresa actually believe that, IF there was no concluded contract with Walker, and if the boot had been on the other foot and he had suddenly got an offer on double the money from an NRL club, he would have played the neutrally tinted man and said no, I feel a moral obligation to 'do the right thing' and go to Bradford?
i don't think so.

Great point. I've got a feeling that this will all blow over and Walker will find another contract, I hope so aswell. If not, then we really will have made a huge mess of this situation, but I agree, the board is trying to do whats best for the team.

Walker could still end up at Catalans.....
www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,865 ... 14,00.html (the last few sentences are the important bit)
I haven't heard too much over here about the chances of Bird returning home, anything that might bring a smile to my face?

If that one turns out to be correct then i would not fancy the chances of Hood in any negotiations with Aussie players and agents in the future. You would lose a lot of credibility and goodwill.

Memories are short, all our quota players are on 2yr+ contracts (except Menzies) and we won't be able to replace him because the quota level will come down another one next year I think

Might Bird also have to return to Aus to serve his sentence if his appeal is unsuccessful? He got 16 months and while he may serve less than that, it would be ironic if that ended up indirectly sorting out the Walker issue.
