| Quote ="Bulliac"Sammut is one of those exasperating players who, one week, can score four tries and win you a game you, quite frankly, deserved to lose and then the following week will drop nearly everything which comes his way. On the whole though he's one of those players which makes RL such an exciting game to watch and he deserves to be in SL. To be fair, I also feel our recruiting is probably done [though we did lose Gareth O'Brien, who had signed and got Siejka, who may or may not have been cheaper? and I doubt we would have room under the cap to take Sammut on board - much as I'd be delighted to see him.'"
Funny you should say that he played FB against the Giants at home, had a poor game in defence but was brilliant in attack scoring two tries' and had two more individual tries ruled out for what seemed like dodgy decisions by the officials', with regards to Siejka he had been injured when he came to us and never got a chance and went to Fev without any chance to get match fit and no game time at all, hopefully he'll surprise a lot of people who have rubbished him when he gets his chance under Jimmy Lowes to show why Wakey brought him over from the other side of the world.

| On the topic of Siejka, he's just tweeted from his hospital bed after some knee surgery. So we either signed someone we knew was crocked, or it's a fresh injury he's picked up since he joined the club.
Either way, it's not exactly filling me with confidence. I hope I'm wrong but I feel like we might have made a mistake signing him. Perhaps he was a last resort after the GoB farce. With it being such a pivotal position as well, it could ruin our season if he doesn't gel with the rest of the team.

| I remain hopeful Sjieka be ok but we could do with cover at halfback as he’s had a problems with injury and it’s a long season.
On Crookes I was disappointed when he went to Hull as he looked like he was just coming good. He seems to have gone backwards since he left but he’s had a few injuries and some off field issues.. On re-signing him I think we have more important priorities such as halfback cover and maybe another prop.

I know Danny Addy and Jake Mullaney are plenty good enough to fill in at this level but I'd prefer to have two recognised halves for the business end.

| Has Harry's tweet been removed? Can't see anything on his feed. Might be something and nothing as others have said. Can remember a few players having clean outs on their knees in off season. Seem to remember hape and big les having it done pretty much every year, or so it seemed, and it was a couple of weeks recovery time type thing iirc.

| Siejka said it was his second knee surgery, so maybe it was planned? Either way best to have it done now rather than him being on one leg next September!

| Why would Sammut come back?
I'd be highly surprised if Sammutt went to Wakey for a pay cut and he has another year left.
I can't see us paying the same wage now, or Wakey paying him off to come to a side they may face in the 8s. They appear to be more financially sound than for many a year and have also released Siejka. I don't see this happening unless Wakey have squad/injury issues later in the season and need to free up salary and cap.

I wouldn't wish financial problems on any club but I believe they are a club that lurches from disaster to disaster. There will be superficial stability in-between and then meltdown again.

| I suspect one or two SL clubs may well be tempted into 'imprudence' towards the back end of their early season when the bottom four starts to look more certain.

| Decent player but we have plenty of outside backs who need to be used to see how good they are. I am still hoping that Offendahl isn't completely finished. We have kept his papers and who knows, he stated in September he was injured. 6-8 months later and he may quietly slip into training and be fit by mid season. That would do me as he looked a decent prop and we may need a new player by then. If not, then i would keep one spot free for any gap that needs filling. No rush to spend the money at the moment.

No sure, they seem I have a decent chairman in place now. If any season there were to have gone busy it would have been this one.

| I'd say that P&R, or the imminent prospect of, has generally caused more 'incidents' over the years as the consequences of being relegated and the benefits of being promoted are a big incentive to take the risk. Squeaky bum time causes many a chairman to take the sort of risks he wouldn't normally go near. "Sod the leccy bill, if we lose next week we could be in the bottom four..."

Is that just your opinion or do you base your statement on actual facts, the reason I ask is because earlier this month the club reported a profit of £355,921 to the end of Nov 2013.

| Wakey's chairman is an accountant, so if they still manage to get into financial difficulties with him in charge, they might as well give up tbh.

It's a message board for goodness sake, since when have facts been important?
What brings a Wakefield fan all the way down here?

One whose club that has suffered like your club has but has been a little more fortunate than yours and is interested enough to see how things are shaping up, and as Iv'e said before hopes you come straight back up but not at our expense, anyway there's nothing wrong with coming down here and seeing how the other half live

As I say you are presently in one of your periods of stability and long may it continue. However like us you support a club that has given you fans a rough nervy time on quite a regular basis over the last decade. There's no gloating in me saying that.

Confirmed in today's t&a that it was a planned surgery. Follow up surgery to remove staples put in in his surgery earlier in the year. Due back in training next week.
