UNBELIEVBLE!!!!!!!

Was a good first half, very good infact on both attack and defense. Slacked off a bit in 2nd half and the last try conceded really annoyed me but never mind.

It could have been more, but it was a knock-on-afon for both teams really. Quins probably saved their worst performance for us aswell.

Like a quins fan said to me " How the hell is this team 12th? ".

Just back from Stoop and few points from todays game:

- Awesome first 30 mins or so although some of that is down to poor opposition.
- As others have said Langers was superb. Also top performances from Nero and Halley.
- Worrincy very poor - why was Donaldson not playing??
- Feel sorry for fans who turned up late. Looked like some people didn't even arrive until last ten mins of match. Thankfully let the train take the strain!
- Poor crowd if the report on my mobile internet is correct - 3112. Didn't help atmosphere at all.
- Why after destroying them down the left hand side did we rarely go there in the second half? Nero was breaking tackles for fun all game but hardly touched the ball in the second 40 mins.

I missed the the first 17 minutes of the game due to the bus getting stuck in traffic in London. One moaner on the bus really kicked off at the driver because of that but the traffic was the worst I've ever seen it in London. There were moans that we should have gone the m25 route but people who did take that route arrived at the game well into the second half.

However, what I saw in the first half was a team who realise they cannot make the play-offs any more and so they may as well relax and play some rugby. Passes that had gone astray in previous games were hitting the mark and tackles were being made instead of being missed.
That said, London had poor ball retention and were slow at responding in defence.

I think they had a kicking from Macca at half time and came out a lot more determined to score. Even though they had about 70% of the ball in the third quarter we didn't concede then at all. That shows a lot of improvement in our defensive qualities.

The last quarter saw their increased effort pay dividends while we squandered a few good chances in the style that has become all too familiar this season. Their last try was on the whistle and I hope they got a blasting from the boss for not concentrating enough in those dying seconds to make the one tackle which would have saved that last try.

The crowd was low but that wasn't our fault. There were LOADS of Bulls fans there. I'd say almost as many as the home fans. 2 coaches went from Odsal and a lot of others were there too. We even got a song or two going and the reception the players got from the Bulls fans after the game was really positive. The players seemed very happy with that.

Tadulala was back to his best, Deacs had his kicking boots on and everyone seemed to put in a solid effort. Platt didn't show us any reason to want to give him any more chances though and I think he needs to go on the bent bargains table ASAP.

At that point, I actually wondered if I'd really got to the game or if I'd fallen asleep at the wheel in the traffic jam and was dreaming.

Can't add to anything you've said already except that from our point of view the game was nearly a carbon copy of our home game v. Saints two weeks earlier. That was 0-34 at half time, finished 24-44.

Pity that so many of your fans missed a lot of the game. I travel in from Wiltshire via the M4, and avoid the M25 because it's always potentially bad news. But today I used the train and all timings were spot on. From what I saw in the first 30 mins I'd have done better to use the M25.

Well done from one to seventeen on what we must say was the best result of the season and it wasn't even the complete performance

You`re right, of course. Home form is far more important for the majority of fans. I was talking to a Quins fan at the game and they`re of a somewhat similar opinion!

Oh well. Story of the season, really. The few (well, actually a surprising lot) of away diehards get to go home happy/very happy/deliriously happy on several occasions - but the home fans trudge away 9 times out of 10 disconsolate / aggrieved/ totally fscked off.

I don't think there's any particular reason for it, it's just how things have worked out, but if all the home fans had seen all the away performances then I don't think things would appear even a half as bad. But (and as I keep saying) just about the worst thing you can do is consistently fsck off your home crowd and send them away swearing never again. Do it enough times and they'll eventually still feel like that the next day.

And no, I can't understand it either. At all. A totally different team performance to last week. I'm scrathcing my head that much now, I'm tickling my throat.

PS and for once I didn't win much money on the event, as I didn't have a big enough winning margin! I should have more confidence, I'm beginning to realise this now.

I agree to a point, results against Wire, Catalans, Celtic, Saints, Wakey and Quins away from home back up the theory that we've obviously had more success on the road. But there have also been some plenty of poor and lacklustre performances away from Odsal. Salford, Wigan, Cas and Hull KR are ones that I attended that immediately spring to mind that left me leaving the ground pretty vexed off.

I've seen all but 2 or 3 matches this year and still think things are pretty bad this year. I'm ready for 2010 already.. whether others feeling the same way will also return is perhaps doubtful unless our recruitment is extremely positive.

It was a good performance but Quins really were dire. Easily the worst defensive performance we've faced this year. Their reduction in performance from last week makes the Bulls seem a model of consistency.

But still a good morale booster, hopefully the Giants will deservedly celebrate their great win and we can finish the season with a flourish.

Excellent performances from Halley, Nero, Scruton & Lynch. And deacs best game for a while.

I would also highly recommend The Jersey Boys.

Aye, with a bit of luck they'll all go on a 7 day bender now and turn up either drunk or massively hungover. Although if we play as per normal this season, they may still win.

Echo most of what has been posted really.
We arrived as Quins scored their first and immediately I thought, oh god, how many down are we already......then was pleasantly surprised when I saw the score board at 12-6!!

For much of that first half, it was like the teams had changed shirts. Quins were doing much of what we have done all year, but we clicked, like really clicked. And when your luck is in, your luck is in - see the penalty attempt on the stroke of half time.

Other bounces of the ball, 50-50 calls were also going our way.

As someone else said; was it because we were more relaxed?

We need to win 3 of our last four now and take that into next year...

I made the same comment at the match. That it was like they swapped shirts after last week's game and decided to play in those instead

Living where I am in Bicester it was the first time I've managed a game this season, after being a season ticket holder for years. I was half dreading it but enjoyed every minute sat in the sunshine. Felt sorry for those who were late but the M25 is so unpredicable - I use it regularly and it ain't bad but the worst bit is always from Heathrow to the M1.

Hoping for a good finish to the season and roll on next year - if I can afford a reliable car by then expect to get up more next year
