Leon Pryce at loose forward


You guys crack me up sometimes.

He'll play at 6, we won't get a full season out of Leon so Keyes will still get plenty of game time.

Crazy isn't it? I sometimes think I've wandered onto a forum for a local loony bin.

Pryce is as much a 13 as Purtell, Haggerty, Addy & Mathers are half backs. You're completely right, no way will Leon go all season without an injury, so Keyes will play plenty. Besides, we need some proper cover for the halves (which we have with Keyes and perhaps Thomas) instead of relying on moving back rowers there as soon as one of our main 2 go down injured, as we have in previous years.

Frankie Mariano confirmed as leaving Cas at the end of the season. I mentioned in an earlier post that I'd love to see him at the Bulls.

He'd be a great replacement for Gaskell....

On the recovery table

Mariano is a good player if you keep him fit. But that's been his problem in recent years.

With our lack of forward options, I'd be tempted to see if he fancied it. But it would be a gamble.

I'd definitely take Mariano. He'd make a good good signing for an SL team, never mind a championship team. Ok he's has injury problems but he would definitely be wroth the gamble IMO

I’m not sure. When he’s fit he’s useful but he’d have to come cheap considering his injury record.

Yes, but given his injury issues, we could probably get him on a cheaper deal with an option to extend should he manage to be fit for the lion share of the season

The confusion continues as we have signed another player for next year - Jason Walton from Wakefield. I'm starting to believe everything at the club will be just fine if we're continuing to attract and sign players.

Well that signings come out of the blue. Sure we'll see a few more surprises. Think Walton is a decent solid player.

What a strange period we are going through (again)

Last year, Marc Green was bouncing off the walls with enthusiasm, tweeting like a good 'un and the rest.

Now its a stoney silence regardless.

On one hand the gloaters pounce on the negatives (Rod Studd / Gary Schofield) at ALL times - we continue to hear of late wages - HMRC are after us - yet we continue to re-build for next season at the same time..

Worrying, Interesting, Intriguing - but not dull !

So many changes, Ross Peltier today, for those keeping track is there a 'reasonably' up to date list of what shape our squad is in for 2017, positions and contracts, etc; also don't recall any recent comments about Caro and Clare, injured or ? Difficult to know who is fit and not picked, who is fit and perhaps not willing to play (alledgedly), who is not fit etc.....discuss. The clubs deafening silence in this area makes it a challenge.

Clare got a bad injury and was wearing one of those space boot thingys until very recently.

Clare had an operation so is definitely on the injured list. Not sure on Caro.

I'll post an up to date squad list shortly, I have the info somewhere.

There's dispute as to how long Mitch Clark's contract is, so I haven't included him. Largely because it seems nailed on he's at KR next season, so for now I'd assume he's not part of the squad.
