| The thing that riles me abit is the emotional side of last night.
I saw a couple of people visibly upset that it could have been the end, but the club have moved the goalposts again.
Probably a good decision, but they've handled it disgustingly.

Thing is, we would not all get so wound up if we did not all care so much. I hate injustice with a passion. Others hate feeling they have been lied to. Others hate it when they feel they have been taken for granted. What we ALL hate is the thought of no more Bulls. The thought of that can send more than a few of us into orbit for a bit, myself included.

| I cant understand why people are getting so upset. We're nearly at 500k which we planned/hoped to be by Friday, but not quite there so the club have given an extra few days in the hope that we can muster up the remaining funds.
My worry is what happens next, are the club going to be relying on fans for the next 500k or is there some other ways of raising the funds?

| If it hadn't been an Easter weekend no doubt the Club would have announced the Pledge as originally stated, but as been pointed Banks and Goverment are closed till Tues, earliest HRMC would want their monies around the 15th. Why people are carping on is silly just chill out there will still be a Club next week, and getting extra money to go over the 500K makes sense. Whatever the p r on this its done, last minute hindsight not involed just a reaction to the situation by the Club, and the usual overreaction by some Fans

The puzzling thing is though, whether banks are open or not, they could have, by now been collecting the pledge money had they closed the pledge and all card payments would be credited to the bank account regardless of whether the branch on Market St is open or not.
Extending the deadline means they won't now begin collecting the pledge money until Tuesday morning at the earliest. If it is indeed needed for salaries next weekend, then it's pushing it a bit.
So, was the cash actually needed quite that desparately or not? it's about time someone from that administrative shower started telling the truth!

After going through this myself recently, I know exactly how you feel. With other things on your mind, people tend to shoot straight from the gut without thinking about the subtle nuances or reaction that this may cause. No apology needed.

| Card payments are only credited on bank working days, and there is usually a bit of a delay anyway.
I presume they will ask for bank transfer wherever possible, to save credit card commissions. Usually same day value. You would like to think they have worked that out...?
If I was paying my payroll at work, to get value to employees for Friday I would need value in my account on Thurs, Friday if I was prepared to pay more, provided my bank had upgraded from BACS to Faster Payments.
We WERE told mid-April, so that suggests they don't need it all for value Tues?
Not sure if any of the above helps at all, but I offer it as a bit of generic info.

The "lets get behind Bradford ppl" sounds like [ihe[/i has made the decision (if indeed the 'decision' mentioned was rugby related)to get behind Bradford and he wants others to do the same.
What's not to like about that?

I have to disagree with your first sentence. All debit card payments made to my business through the online banking system are instant regardless of the day of the week or whether it's a Bank Holiday or not. Indeed even paper "Giro" receipts sent from the Office are processed overnight even at weekends. Credit card payments, I cannot comment on.

Sounds logical Adey, and it's certainly the easiest way, not to mention quickest, if RBS use FPS that is . Though they have taken taken card details for some things, like virtual tickets, for instance, which will obviously incur some costs to collect.

| Sorry first line was referring to credit card payments. Debit card payments are same day as long as payer's bank is on FP as I think pretty well all are now.
I was including debit card payments in with bank transfers as amounts to same thing. My bad for not making more clear.

I think it looks bad to those looking from the outside in who we want investment from, as we keep moving the goal posts. However, after getting £480k I would say 20k should be achieveable. I am not sure how many people are off to Widnes, but as of yesterday morning (if Bulls were selling tickets in numerical order) only 300 tickets had been sold! We should be selling the full 600. Also, under 18s and Wyke are playing today, this should draw in a bit of money. The Northern pub on Halifax Rd has a big fundraiser tonight too for the club, so still a lot that can be done.
Adey, any chance of doing Bucket collections on Monday?'"
They had about 100 Widnes tickets left at noon. I had planned to get mine yesterday before the game but thought the vibes coming out of the club were so negative that I'd be giving my money to HRMC.
I just can't comprehend why the club didnt announce the extension to the pledge deadline yesterday. Even if they didnt know the running total they had nothing to lose. They should have asked an ex player (Robbie Paul, Keith Mumby etc) to announce it at half time, create a "Bob Geldof moment" and then repeated it at the the final whistle. The emotion of the game would have generated the extra £20k by midnight.

Is it not the case that while they may well appear on your online account very quickly (often same day), then they are still not available for funds until they have cleared ?
To give a worrying example I paid the balance of a holiday last week into an RBS account in cash across the counter of the main office in Leeds, the payment was to a UK business in Northumberland direct to their RBS account - they didn't see my CASH payment on their online account for three full working days which frankly I find appalling, but not surprising - I was also told at a NatWest counter that I couldn't pay the CASH into an RBS account from there despite the fact that NatWest are 100% owned by RBS.
Credit card payments are even worse, you may see the credit in your online business account but the terms of the transaction mean that the credit card company can reclaim it several weeks later, I know of one business who was "done" for several thousand pounds in this way after supplying goods on the strength of a "buyer not present" transaction that was reclaimed EIGHT weeks later.

| Although this means another few days of stressing (it's a good job I have no hair to lose!) and has been handled in a very "Bulls" way, it has to be a good thing. As I said - I know one person who pledged LAST NIGHT, and two more I am confident are going to over the weekend.
Let's keep strong, we can do it. Come on you Bulls.

It's not as if we're dealing with companies making commercial decisions, we're talking about people offering their own money, so I've got to be sure that taking that money is the right thing to do."'"
Fair enough and really deserves a bit of credit for this considering the flack gone his way (not totally undeserved in a lot of cases).
I reckon the delay has more to do with spending the weekend telling potential investors to put up or shut up. Given the fact that that amount of cash has been raised in such a short space of time I think we will have companies wanting to get involved with us because the support is there that's been proved.

You should maybe go to the Chapel Allerton branch of NatWest then and show them how to accept £230 in cash to be paid into an RBS account, because they said it can't be done, I didn't believe them but they insisted.
While you're at it you could ask them to refund the £1 it cost me to park in central Leeds to go to the East Parade RBS bank to pay the money in
If you like I'll give you the name of the company who's account it went into on Fri 30th Mar and they'll tell you how it didn't appear on their statement until Weds 4th Apr, I'd have preferred not to have used the banking network at all because its not the first crapola experience I've had with NatWest (and all of my business, personal, insurance, pension, ISA banking used to be done with them).
Am I surprised RBS have dropped your team in the dog-muck ?
No
Anyway, I truly hope the pledges do come in and I hope that HMRC (if they are the main creditor) take them into account when demanding whatever they are owed, hell as a taxpayer I should be insisting that they do because they'll get zippo if they don't.

The only overdues are Jan and now Feb PAYE -due to the RBS debacle. Great how one arm of HMG seeks to screw another, eh?
The big bills are the end of March VAT quarter and the first instalment of the image rights tax settlement - both not yet due but due shortly.

It makes a lot of sense for the Board to take the weekend to review where things stand. The daft thing was not announcing the pledge extension yesterday.
Ideally they'll announce on Monday that they're selling the club to an investor(s) who is willing and able to match the fans cash. But they should also be prepared to put the pledge on ice and go into administration if they're not very confident of raising the second £500k

I'm sorry you guys are having to go through all this at the moment, but have a little respect for the rest of the rugby league who have also tried to help you.
I'm a Hull fan and know there was a collection made for Bradford's plight at the KC last week. The fan you took a swipe at had also pledged to support your club.
I can understand the situation is stressful, but if other clubs/fans money isn't good enough for you then you could always give it back.
Good luck with raising the rest of the money, I hope the Bulls come through all this, I'm sure they will. Hopefully, upon reflection, you'll beecome a little more gracious in how others have also helped the Bradford fans efforts.
