You can't register for VAT without a bank account number

Not sure the RFL are 'helping out', noticed when trying to buy tickets online that they're subject to a £2 RFL transaction fee (going up to £2.50 next month). I'm assuming this is handed on to the club in the case of paying with a card at the club shop.

I noticed Mick & Hobbo had to quickly retreat on their comments yesterday during the game. Throughout the first half they'd been talking about Geoff Toovey as the coach, what he was doing and what he'd done. In the second half they quickly pointed out that it was obviously on a voluntary basis and he's only on holiday until his Visa is sorted, and if he wants to offer advice while he's on his jollies, that's up to him. It sounded a lot like someone at the club had whispered in their ear to stop suggesting Toovey is working in case any border patrol folk happen to be Broncos fans and are listening in!

Without a visa you're not allowed to work full stop, even as an unpaid volunteer. Maybe some people ought to watch more Border Force on sky Living (or OK, maybe I should watch less

).

OK, I know some of these programmes are populist rubbish, pandering to the views of xenophobic braindeads but they show the reality of what goes on in the minds of these people and how they work. People need to take heed or the coach may be gone before he (officially) arrives.

I could believe rumours about him sacking off Bradford due to the visa thing going on too long. The idea of him going to Leeds is ridiculous. Hetherington has very publicly given Brian Mac a month to sort things out. He wouldn't have lined up a replacement already.

There will be some form of contract between Toovey and the club regardless of visa situation. It's usual practice for a contract to be signed before sponsorship for a visa is sort. As such IF Toovey becomes Leeds coach, Bradford are entitled to some form of compensation

As a Club we are not running on all cylinders, so as a team we cannot fire on all cylinders.With problems re visa and banking difficulties, it's a wonder we were allowed to start at all in this division.Seems to be taking an age this.

It's a mystery why we asked to start in this division at all.

Phoenix was reported as signed on 8 February. 40 days ago. Toovey was announced on 20 January. 49 days ago. HOWEVER this guidance assumes the employer is a registered sponsor. As the old club was liquidated I expect it's had to re-apply to become a sponsor. If that's the case it needs a bank account. Has the club got one yet? When i brought the tickets last Monday the guy from the RFL was still there and said it would say RFL on my bank statement.

Well until we get a chuffing bank account visas can't be applied for according to the links above.

How hard can it be to get a bank account? I know we may be a risky proposition. Any accountants out there?

It's definitely harder than it was.

There are so many checks to do with money laundering, and having good references. Assuming their were no problems with our owners' previous accounts, either abroad or here, then it shouldn't really be that big a big problem, maybe just a long winded one.

Well Chalmers and Lowe do have previous administrations with other businesses in New Zealand.

Perhaps their credit rating makes them too big a risk?

The longer we're without a bank account the more of an issue that becomes.

Could mean Toovey is never officially installed as coach and Phoenix remains a mythical animal.

..But they had the not inconsiderable blessing of the RFL.Hand picked no less...maybe pick and mix would have been the quicker option!

Perhaps the RFL didn't see this coming and have been providing banking facilities since as a result?

Still leaves is without a head coach or any overseas players for now whatever the reason.
