No Langley today. I don't know why.

I wasn't there but according to people that were Scruton looked a lot better, couple of games yet before he gets full Match Fitness. Manuokafoa and Sidlow were the other props. Walker at 13.

Scruton had a decent game. Probably the best prop on the field for me today.

Thought Whitehead was MOM, even though the sponsors gave it to Foster, ran some good lines, his pass behind the back to Blythe was class.

Apart from the kickoff penalty Dewsbury weren't anywhere near our 20m for almost all the game, really struggled to make ground, overall thought it was a good, solid hit out, hopefully more of the same next week.

Walked past Langley as I was walking back to my car, didn't bother to stop to ask if he was injured/playing next week as my feet needed warming up in the car.

Walker played a fair few minutes at prop and looked quite handy.

I was speaking to my mate that plays for Dewsbury in the bar afterwards and he said that we're speaking to Dewsbury about Tom Lillycrop returning to the club.

Scruton was great today. He made good metres, tackled well, and also got a couple of offloads in in the first half. I was impressed by Jamie Foster too. He was very safe under the high bomb and didn't miss any of his conversion attempts. Blythe had a solid game at right centre and grabbed a try, which was thanks to a brilliant flick from Whitehead. Sidlow also had a good game.

How did Naughton play when he came on? I've been praising him on here haha.

Naughton did ok. He took a high ball very well. I think his only mistake was a knock on.

Any injuries from the game?

One of the youngsters went off after a hit but think it was just precautionary. Not sure if it was naughton or murphy. Don't think there were any other injuries.

I think it was Murphy that went off after that hit but it didn't look serious. He walked off without any help.

Great to see Foster with 8/8 kicks, perhaps many were near the posts but his consistency was still good.
The worth of a great kicker in the points he scores is to be valued.
Equally, the capability of slotting over any penalty for 2 points that the opposition might give away in their own half is a threat to them, one that they will need to be aware of in designing their own game plan.

Majority of conversions were under sticks but the the couple that were out wide didn't seem to phase him particularly.

Well it sounded like a decent enough hit out.

Nothing too taxing for the lads, but enough to see how the team is forming.

Foster's kicking seems like it'll be a definite bonus for us. Over the last few years we've lost more than a few games by just a couple of points. It looks like his nerve in front of goal could keep us in a few games this year.

His best penalty kick for us was during the 2011 Grand Final when he booted it over from the halfway line. That's some boot, especially given how scrawny he looks.

He's well worth his value in kicks alone IMO and he is bound to save your bacon with that skill at some point. He certainly did us, when he was allowed to play for us that is.

Sounds a good run out.

Seems we have the making of a good team - a good balance of young guns and old heads too.
Pleasing to see the defence was up to scratch - it's easy in friendlies to ship in a few soft ones.

Someone behind us yesterday came out with a belter when Foster was grabbed round the neck during a drive...
