That's the big rumour mate.
I'd certainly go all out and being him over early, if he wants to come.

If we are talking rumours, he won't be doing much flourishing under Powell at Cas next year... and that isn't to say he won't sign for them either

Well said, he's most certainly not the answer! Mullaney seemed equally capable in either position but he's a rare talent is that lad. Well, when he's not injured. Such a shame he was always crocked otherwise i think he would have done alright in SL when he got his chance.
Its looking like we missed a beat on this Pewhairangi lad, will be interesting to watch him turn out for London this weekend

Totally agree, I was just pointing out he has played there. We need a marshalling 7 to let Gaskell (for the rest of this year) have some wider ball to play his natural game, not many of them about here who could realistically be an option hopefully with Smith his scouting network and knowledge wont end up with us taking chances like we have done in the past.

| The problem is though that it is not just one half-back we need, it is two. Gaskell seems to always be crocked and is probably taking up quite a decent chunk of the salary cap to sit on the treatment table. I really do not see why too many people would be that bothered if he DID go. Whilst I concede that he is a fine player, when fit, he is very rarely fit and, to me, is a complete liability.
The guy is like a tampon. He is in for a week and out for a month.

| I think Addy will benefit from a move. He's played out of position more often than not and it's held him back as a player up until now. He's not the finished article as a backrower - his defence isn't good enough IMO.
If he's gone at least it should mean we don't keep playing him at halfback.
As for Clark I'd much rather have kept him. He's a bit raw but will go a long way.

| I think we'll miss Addy a lot more than you think and I would argue that we'll miss him more than Gaskell. Might not make the headlines every week but he's always there to do the job whenever the others go missing.

Think the criticism of Gaskell always being injured is harsh. He played every game last year until he had his jaw smashed by a props elbow.
Then in against wakey he whacked himself around the post trying to prevent a try. There not injuries caused by being injury probe.
I think he's only missed 2 this year.
If he was missing a lot of games because of hamstrings, strains etc then I'd be worried.

| I thought Green was campaigning for "Remain"?
Anyway Addy was almost signed by KR 2 years ago, but stayed loyal to us. For his loyalty, he's spent 2 years playing out of position and being regularly bagged by so-called "fans". Plus promotion looks like a mirage. So who can blame him.
But also, at the time he signed his last 2 year deal in 2014, life will have looked a lot different as he was playing with a halfback combination of Gaskell and Gale. Maybe he's had enough of doing the right thing, and wants to be somewhere where he can resume developing his own game and preferred position. No sign of that around here.
Good luck to him, anyway. I presume he's here till the end of the season and he won't let anybody down.
As for Gaskell, I was going to shoot down ME's post but Bull Mania said it all already, so, what he said. Same sort of totally misguided and unfair criticism of Gaskell as Addy has regularly copped for. Whilst I doubt they take that much notice, it can't help.

He also missed a big chunk of the 2014 season with a medial cruciate injury, limped off at half time this week soon after an injury return, on top of the two injuries you refer to.
Doesn't play enough games IMO, regardless of what you and FA suggest.

Don't have stats to hand of how many times he's been substituted or when it was, but straight appearances stats:
2014 = 23 starts from 30 games
2015 = 20 starts + 1 sub appearance from 33 games
2016 (so far) = 12 starts from 14 games

| Think the issue with Gaskell this season at least hasn’t been the games he’s missed but the games he’s gone missing.
Last season he was immense for us when he was on the field. However I think that may have been down to the fact that the team was playing better and he had some better players around him such as Mullaney.

| I don't "suggest" anything, the numbers are a matter of record and given the 2 serious injuries that he suffered unavoidably (well, the second one could have been avoided if we had anybody else in our own half trying to prevent tries under our sticks) they show that there is nothing wrong with his numbers. Unless 85% is a poor record. Maybe ME is confusing it with strength of illicit brews.

If the figures quoted by Hamster Chops are correct, he has started 55 of 77 games since he has been at Bradford. Whilst this is better than I expected, it is certainly not 85%. Unless, of course, you are trying to fudge the figures to suit your own argument.
Of course, as stated, that only shows the amount he has started, as opposed to finished.
And I am sorry if it seems harsh but IMO (my opinion here!!!) he is not out there enough to be seen as indispensable and to justify his wages.

| Anyone considered fact Gaskells hamstring maybe wasn't right after last injury he had but was forced back to play too early due to lack of half backs? Not exactly his fault or points to him being injury prone does it?
