| nothing is decided yet as to what will happen, the RFL will decide once the admin period is over and the dust has settled. The licence period 2012-2014 had a proviso that the RFL could revoke any licence from any club for whatever reasons they deemed unacceptable. Going into admin carries a points deduction as a penalty, but the RFL can place further sanctions upon a club.
The best scenario for the Bull's would be a buyer who is prepared to accept some of the historic debt in order to maintain a SL licence.

If we had a smart alec lawyer for a chairman I bet he'd run rings round that in court...
I agree fully with your last bit though.

Would you be able to afford a smart alec lawyer????
If SLE had to buy Bradford I would expect relegation, if it's another party, then I see no reason why Bradford should not carry on as they are. No difference to other SL clubs.
If they were liquidated then that's a different matter as it would be a new club, but a buy out from admin keeps the club the same.

Even if the club secures a buyer/new owner and pay off some of the debt thus avoiding liquidation. The penalty for going into admin is a points deduction is it not?? we've had a points deduction.
I sincerely hope i am wrong with this but it still stinks!'"
Hmmm I think you need to look at the facts again. RFL loan Bradford a stack of cash, when they can't pay it back they give them some more and take a pretty much worthless lease in lieu of payment.
When no realistic bidders come in to save the bulls, the RFL move to buy the bulls using the body of SLE.
Yep looks like the RFL were really putting the boot in. Maybe you should look closer to home for those who brought the bulls to their knees.
There is a catalogue of errors and most of them started at Odsal.

I would amend your comments as such:
ALL of the errors started and were compounded at Odsal.
The RFL tried to assist the Bull's "temporary" funding shortfall with progressive loans and their intention to support a member club was greatly to their credit.
Clearly they did this on the basis of the financial information re the state of the Bulls given to them from time to time.
It's doubtfull that the RFL would have continued in providing loans to the Bulls had they been fully aware of the true financial situation every time the loan was increased.
We do not know what level the loan from the RFL had risen to prior to the RFL buying the lease on Odsal.
But by buying the lease (which has little or no value to the RFL) they converted a bloody great loan that might be lost in the Bulls impending Administration into a bargaining asset

| Rumour is the fifth bid is from guy behind park avenue. Horsefall lease up for renewal on next yr or two and needs upgrading anyway. Would certainly make a lot of sense in terms if getting more use out of stadium year round.

| Any one else notice that the bars why where now open for this match when they have been closed since we went into admin, if they are still cutting cost they wouldn't pay staff or fix them as they "said" they where broken

I hadn't realised the bars have been shut. Seems a poor decision, if you can afford to buy the stock then it should be very profitable. Madness to keep them shut when we need every penny.
late thought - it wasn't because they'd made the licence holder redundant, was it?

| IIRC i think it said there was a problem with the celler pumps, but i am sure they have been shut since we played wakefield im sure of it. Same question applies if we are living on a shoe string and cutting cost why now open them up, makes me think we have gotten a cash injection from somewhere

If gross profit on sale of beer etc > marginal costs of opening the bars (mainly staff), then provided they actually have sufficient stock avaialble (no foregone conclusion when you do not enjoy credit terms) then it is a total no-brainer.

Seems a strange one if your recollection is correct. I'm certainly no expert on the keg system but as far as I know each font has its own pump, so with bars spread all over the ground it would seem to need quite a few pumps to develop problems all at once to cause them to shut up shop.

| Just one thing that's buzzing round my head at the moment.
Assuming that we get a buyer and that buyer agrees to pay off some of the outstanding debt rather than go down the newco route, surely we should be allowed to appeal against the 6 point deduction? After all, both Wakey and Crusaders got only 4 point deductions after agreeing similar deals. So if we were able to go down the same road, why should we suffer the full 6?

I've been saying that ever since the deduction was announced. I thought then, and still do, that the RFL jumped in with both feet and were a bit too keen to knock 6 points off before they knew what debts (if any) would still be there. It's a good job they don't have any responsibility for hangings...

But it's always been six points for going into admin. Doesn't affect whether were able to claim points back if someone pays off debts. Not that we will, expect rfl to claim it's six points if your in admin for longer than a month or something similar. They won't backtrack on deduction and admit they cocked up.

Didnt Tasker say at the time that we weren't in a position pay off debts? It would have been ridiculous if the RFL had waited until this interminable saga ends to decide if new owners will pay off debts. There had to be some clarity before the season comes to an end.

| I've heard that 22nd Aug is D-Day for our licence review.
The 21st August is 8 weeks from when we entered admin and (supposedly) the RFL decision has to be made & announced by then according to their operational rules.
I've had a quick skim through the rules but cannot see a timeframe.
Is this just wishful thinking? Can anyone confirm or deny?
