I've been watching your post's for a while. I don't think you know what makes a team work. halves need a good forwards in front of them to be effective

Herbert has been the Bulls top producer of points this year and he has done it behind the worst pack in the comp. if you watch closely you will notice Potter has been moving him around in the defensive line. This is because opposing coaches are sending traffic at him to wear him out and make him less effective in attack. Clearly opposing coaches know he will create points otherwise they wouldn't target him in the defensive line.

Strange how the halves have been effective at the same time the forwards have been on top....

Briggs will let in as many points as he creates and Potter knows this

well done on figuring out that teams top creaters are generally their hb's that touch the ball the most. Top marks for that.

One of the key reasons the forwards have gained a foothold in the last couple of weeks (apart from the return of Langers and Elima) is that we've got the 5th tackle managed to kick the ball further than the halfway line. If the pack hasn't laid a platform for Herbert, his kicking game certainly didn't help them.

Apart from the Finch hand off I can't think of any major defensive blunders from Briggs in the last couple of weeks. If Herbert comes back and plays well in a team doing better then good luck to him but I'd stick with Briggs as he looks a kid on the up.

Congratulations. Briggs has played 6 games less. We'll see what happens and how the form of the team is.

But surely the more games you play your stats would technically decrease as an average, unless you seriously worked your socks off !!!

If all the items being measured stayed the same in every match, the stats/match stay the same. If they increase, so do the stats. If they decrease, so do the stats.

Yes IF they stay the same, where as the same then applies for Briggs whos stats would therefore stay the same and Herbert STATISTACALLY would be better............................

....... But in saying that i prefer Briggs anyway and its time he was given a fair crack

Herbert IS statistically better - where the statistics being measured are averages per match.

I dont believe Herbert is a bad player, i just think the team at the time was not getting into a good enough position upfield for him to do anything which therefore should be given a chance behind this newly confidenced pack...................

The on the other hand there is Briggs who again i like as a player who could do with improving a few areas but with the current team and team ethic, if its not broke dont fix it !!

Herbert is in the 19 this week i think Potter will play him as he is more dependable. Potter will be reluctant to change a winning team but he will want the best 17 on the park and Briggs is brittle in defence

Impossible to change the halves this week IMO. They were both excellent last week.

I can see Herbert taking Donno's role, spelling at LF to cover langleys rest breaks.

the halves should stay the same whilst they are going well. Half backs rely on confidence more than most RL players and having an understanding between the 2 is vital. RE herbert, it would be nice to see him behind a confident pack doing its job, but you cant win back the shirt whilst the others are playing well.

Im wondering what the backline will be when Kearney returns as Royston has been good but doesnt strike me as a centre

royston's not a first choice by any means but looked comfortable there earlier in year and, without taking anything away from whitehead, would probably be logical selection there whilst walker is out.

Whitehead's been a revelation in the centres, particularly in defence - leave him there.

I like Royston at full back, so would go with Kearney at 6.

If kearney was to play 6 in both attack and defense then fine. but the way we worked it previously swapping him and royston depending on whether we were attacking or defending isnt something I want to see us going back to TBH.

agreed, hopefully Royston has made the FB position his own now. I've full faith in him.

you would think that royston has done enough, but kearney has to play somewhere and i think its difficult to juggle the halves atm even without kearney there. Pretty sure BK wants to play FB as well, so makes it interesting.

FB is Kearney's best position to me and, to be honest, I was surprised when Potter continued Macca's idea of putting him in the halves, not that he's been poor there, because he hasn't, it's just not his most effective position.

I guess whatever happens someone's nose is going to be put out of joint, but competition for places is the one thing we've really missed so far this season and that's one of the main reasons the squad exists, so they'll just have to get used to it.

I think its us that are out of step with the rest of SL so the incoming players have had to get used to no competition for places. So normal service will be resumed pretty soon when Scruton and the backs all return. Huddersfield rotate their players week by week, we rotate them month by month.

Kearney is a much better ball runner than he is a ball player. I would love to see him at FB running off BJ and Herbert, especially Herbert's short passes. Shad can play centre and i think that is a position we need to strengthen.
