| Whats in store for our great club in the future?
The main issue for me has got to be Odsal stadium and what we do IF as we expect Bradford Council dump the OSV project.
What do you the Bradford fan suggest we do about this painful situation where we have a class team but not the stadium to match.
Also worth a thought is the amount of money that Odsal in its present state is draining from the club which could be better spent on marketing/youth development etc.
Does the future hold the simple task of just building a roof over the pop side or are we better off moving out of Odsal all together to a new purpose built ground?
Over to you

Why do we just want a new roof OVER THE TERRACE?
Its a waste of time TBH, I dont know why we are still at Odsal, and Im not surprised that crowds have dropped, its one of the most bleakest places to ever watch RL.
Fill it in is what I say.

| during summer days, odsal is one of the nicest places to watch rugby league.
it has the record for the biggest attendance in RL history in britain.
it's full of tradition and because of how it is shaped, it would be easy to get a decent stadium knocked up there. a roof would give more noise and more atmosphere to games.
i really don't understand how you think it is bleak.

Well according to you yes, I think its bloody awful at the best of times, its old, the facilities are poor, no cover from the conditions, the opposing fans are to far apart and there is fans at only 3 ends of the ground. (You cant call that coral thingy a stand really) and not forgetting there is a big dirty track around it. The atmosphere is shocking at the best of times - thats probably down to us though.
Im not a traditionalist TBH, it holds people back IMO and I see very little need for it. Theres no substitute for Modern Technology

I for one would love the OSV to get the nod, but we all know that if were honest the council are going to say " off Bulls".
At the end of the day you have to look at the cost for building a roof over the ground (we are talking 5-10 million with ease because of the sheer vast space there is at Odsal).
So do we build a roof or do we move out??
This question will be upon us one day and I get the feeling Peter Hood wants us away from Odsal

| One Solution - Valley Parade, Great Stadium, Better atmosphere than Odsal, no way that OSV will happen before new shopping centre and chances are that won't happen. If they were to put a new roof on the terracing, the terracing would need repalcing which would cost hundreds of thousands, The coral stand was a total waste of money and i am generally sick and tired of how misrable and boring Odsal Stadium has become, i feel that the only holding Bradford back from futher sucess is our stadium.

old doesn't mean rubbish. rugby league is (supposedly) a summer sport, bring a hat/brolly and you're covered from sun/rain.

there is no end for supposing fans, any visitors to odsal can stand where they want. Huddersfield fans normally take advantage of this.
the coral stand is vital for the bulls to get corporate events at the stadium. no sponsorship means less funds.

yes there's a bit of distance between the stands and the pitch but all the more reason for developing the stands to get closer. there's no reason for a move, nor do you point out where we could move to.

obviously the KC stadium is nicer but i'd rather not ground share with a soccer team. the pitch gets destroyed and then there's the argument over who gets priority use of the stadium.

valley parade was a massive mistake for the bulls, poor stewarding, smaller pitch, poorer location.
the coral stand was not a waste of money. it provides decent facilities for sponsors.

Lol, thats not what I meant, I was refering to when you said Odsal being a lovely place in the summer, I was saying I think Odsal is awful at the best of times.
My mistake, I knew it would cause confusion but I couldnt be assed changing it. sorry.
Quote old doesn't mean rubbish. rugby league is (supposedly) a summer sport, bring a hat/brolly and you're covered from sun/rain.'"
No, your right, old doesnt mean rubbish, but Rubbish does, and the facilities are certainley second rate. Youre right it is a summer sport, but as we all know it quite often rains in our summer. I dont want to carting a brolly around with me, I want to be covered from the elements without holding a bloody umberella all game and blocking somebody behind me's view. You still get wet through with a hat regardless.
Quote there is no end for supposing fans, any visitors to odsal can stand where they want. Huddersfield fans normally take advantage of this.'"
You can sit or stand where you please in any SL ground, its not football.
Quote the coral stand is vital for the bulls to get corporate events at the stadium. no sponsorship means less funds.'"
Come on, You cant call that a stand, quite simply because its not, why couldnt they build a proper stand where thousands of fans could be seated and still have corporate suites and such as?
Quote yes there's a bit of distance between the stands and the pitch but all the more reason for developing the stands to get closer. there's no reason for a move, nor do you point out where we could move to.'"
Yes, I would like the stands to be moved closer but is it likley to happen, it will be more hassle than its worth, along with putting a roof over the terrace IMO.
As for where would we move to, theres plenty of land in the surrounding areas, The land on Richard Dunnes, The Land at Horsefall & The land already surrounding Odsal. Theres also plenty of land around Bradford, we dont have to stay at Odsal, just because its 'traditional'. I wish people would get over tradition and realise its the future that is more important and not about keeping the past in place.
Quote obviously the KC stadium is nicer but i'd rather not ground share with a soccer team. the pitch gets destroyed and then there's the argument over who gets priority use of the stadium.'"
What does it matter if you ground share for? Bloody hell - its not as if its a big deal. As for the pitches, proffesional grounds men make sure they are in good condition so that really is not an issue. Neither is the priority of the stadium. They are just weak excuses if you ask me.

I couldnt agree more
Who cares if youve got to go 3 mile to the stadium, big f*****g deal.
It would be a complete waste of time and effort to start doing upgrades, mightaswell just knock the placedown and start a fresh.
All teams will have nice new stadiums whilst Bulls will be stuck in the hole still, its a poor do for a top SL club, not to mention that its leaking a massive load of cash at a rapid rate by all accounts.
30 grand just to get a toilet fixed..bleeding hell

| If we get a new stadium then great but cant see us ever getting one to be honest.
People say we need better toilet facilities, at end of day its somewhere to relieve urself from the watery beer, blokes standup, it doesnt have to have a nice smelly floor or goldtaps for me to pee when im desperate, if i need to pee behind a tree i dont pick the newest one i just do it.
Yes the stadium could do with being brought into the professional era but if it doesnt it doesnt wont stop me going and if people moan that they want a roof over their heads theyve got choice of going into main stand, if thye dont wanna sit down then stand at the back, noones forcing people to stand in pop stand its their choice, if u asked at the ground all the old people prefer it as it is for sentimental reasons its only the soft kids of today that are moaning about it.
If u dont like the stadium and want a new one go to the giants and stop moaning about our ground.

go to fans forum and ask peter then!. I'v already sent in question via email as i cant get there.
point is we we could build a roof in phases, we dont have to do the lot in one go, so it would be a lot more affordable than you make out. anyone remember in late seventies when there was a stand at coral end of pop side?.
build a manageable section, both size wise and cash flow wise, in off season then get increased crowds that season with new cover and use extra money to build next section following off season. rhinos ard man utd have used same principle to upgrade their stadiums.

| Even if the OSV goes ahead as Hood as already said all the current concrete is going to need to be replaced , without huge upgrades i forsee it continuing to be a black hole sucking in money. If possible i'd like to see us move to a new purpose built stadium with city, but given the councils record on getting new things built it has next to zero chance of happening.

Exactly, If the funds can't be found to redevelope Odsal then what really are the chances of finding the funds/backing to build a new stadium anywhere else. The councils record at this sort of thing means it won't even get past the planning stage. We're better off taking the franchise and moving to a new city as they do in the NFL in America (I'm not for this idea by the way).
The problem behind this is the fact that our attendancies are falling year after year. If we had an average attendance each year of 20,000 then we wouldn't be talking about the subject of new stadia. The reason behind falling attendancies needs to be discovered in my opinion, then this will give us an idea for the future direction of the club and what action to take.
The fans forum should hopefully be an interesting one.

| The problem I see is the long running Harris case, and the money that is being siphoned from the game, according to the press half a million has already gone to the lawyers, and it still rumbles on, and could put the club out of business if the outcome goes against us. Just think of the ground development that this legal sum would have had?
I presume the case has cost to much for both sides to withdraw, and supposed honour needs to be met. I also think if Bradford go out of business, Leeds will never be forgiven for damaging the game.
It is a tragedy that Bradford Council are absolutely clueless in sports development, and have they never heard of grants?

there is already a large amount of grants lined up to fund sports village. Problem is they only kick in if sports village goes ahead as a community facility. If we decide to go it alone and develop purely for bulls benefit we lose a lot of the grants.
