Sahibs, thats the name of the place.

| We ended up going to Akbar's on Leeds rd last weekend. Although very busy i got to say the food was good and we didn't have to wait long for the food to turn up.
The total cost of the bill suprised us too!!! ............... a nice one to say there was 11 of us!!

The Aakash is reopening in a couple of weeks. The bank who repossessed it have re-sold it and the new owners are opening it as a curry house too.

It's alright is Kiplings. It's a bit posher than your average city centre place in that it has table clothes, knives and forks and a license!
Decent enough grub though.

| Woodhouse Grove has shifted a bit if its in Baildon now.
Went to Karachi at dinner. Our lass's first time there, she liked it.
Cracking stargters and beautiful lamb karahi - meat was really tender and not an ounce of fat.

| Well I was just whisked up to Mumtaz for my lunch.
I've actually never been in before, it's certainly not my type of place, but the food was good (Chicken Tikka starter, Karahi Gosht for my main), as was the service and I wasn't paying, which made things even better.
I probably won't have the chance to get a decent curry between now and when I come home for xmas, so I might have to pop out and have another tonight (though somewhere cheaper of course!).

| Tried most of the restaurants mentioned and the top two for me have to be Omar Khans on little horton lane opposite the ice rink and for the cheaper option Omars on Gt Horton rd near the alhambra.
Try the tava gosht lahara if you go to Omar Khan's, probably the best cury I have ever had in 30 years of eating them!!

| Guys just thought i would post my findings at the 3 singhs, for the last 25 or so years i have frequented indian/pakistani restaurants all over bradford and other places and looked through all your postings on here to find one to visit last night for my birthday treat.....anyway i read one mentioning the 3 singhs so off we went...
3 of us went and this is what we thought..bear in mind it was 6pm on a weds night and 6 other tables were occupied when we got there.
Mixed kebab. 1 shami & 1 shiek ....came on a sizzling iron platter...best I have tasted in years. 10/10
Lamb tikka...6 large pieces of lean tender lamb...must have been good ..daughter never spoke once while tucking in..9/10
Poppadoms.....freshly fried...bit greasy.6/10
Lamb dopiaza.....Nice flavour complimented by a very nice garlic nan.....dissapointed that there was 1 or 2 grissley bits on the meat but that didnt spoil the meal. 7/10
Chicken tikka massala....Garlic nan...very very good and tasty...plenty to go round. 7/10
Chicken madras....Garlic nan...not too hot , not too plain..once again plenty of meat.. 7/10
Service....9/10
2 bottles of Cobra and 1 Coke.
£35.00

| It's not very hip but late Saturday afternoon in Bingley is not the food mecca of the north, so we nipped into Wetherspoons for some grub & a drink. As they were doing a curry special offer for £2.60 I tried a mushroom dopiaza, with naan bread, rice, pops & mango chutney. Have to say it was bl00dy lovely.

| I've had many, many worse curries is 'authentic' restaurants. It was a delicious, rich, spicy sauce with plenty of onions (which you would expect from a dopiaza). However, it was probably a million miles from an authentic indian curry.

| Couple of Omars visits over the last fortnight as well as another trip to the Karachi.
The latter's lamb dishes are really good. Lamb can be a bit iffy with gristle or being tough but at the Karachi its really soft and tender with no fat. Also really like the starters at the Karachi - no fuss just plonked on a plate but the sikh kebabs are nicely spiced and the onion bhajis are beautiful.
Daughter is quite taken with the Omars starters now (we don't normally bother there as there is so much naan you get too full) but she loved the 'chicken pakora' which was much nicer than I'd expected.
They've stopped giving mixed/lime pickle in the pickle tray but if you ask for it they'll bring you a dish of it.
This week I'll be sampling the delights of the Shipley Agrah's sunday buffet. I'm not raising my expectations too high.

| Taking the guide on tour I had a Lamb curry in a restaurant in Madrid called Aggra this lunchtime.
If you ever find yourself here and gasping for a curry my advice is don´t do it, it was pretty much what you´d expect to be served out of a can from Morrisons, though as I am suffering withdrawal symptoms the experience was acceptable.
Only 30 days until I can have a proper curry again!

Yep, best kept secret in Bradford, Always difficult to recommend a place on my own opinion but thanks for yours.
Service 9/10 is spot on - should set a standard for all others, but few can be d to follow. Even places of good food are arrogant, slipshod or do not provide enough service at busy times.

Get a life! at least a visit to the shipley Agraah might stop you banging on about Omah's and the Karachi as the only restaurants in Bradford.
Are you on commission?

Nope.
I just understand good food not whitey crap
Would Sahib care for another bottle of Cobra with his chicken tikka massala? Extra gravy and red food colouring? Is Sahib's waiter servile enough?
Same old rubbish you can get in any town (or pub or ready meal for that matter) just doesn't do it for me. The likes of Agraah, Akhbars and the 3 Singhs offer the same level of authenticity and quality as the likes of Nandos and Pizza Hut do for Portuguese and Italian food.
