We only paid £100,000 for Solomona and he was an international. My guess is it being an undisclosed fee with some Featherstone supporters claiming it to £100k+ while Bradford supporters will say £50/£60k.

| selling clubs fans always claim they got an unrealistically high figure whilst buying clubs fans always under estimate amount they've paid. Reality is somewhere in the middle. All the clubs usually say is undisclosed fee. I'd guess a realistic figure would be 50k and a friendly at fev for next year or two with them keeping all the gate receipts. If Fev fans want to think they got 150k let them, doesnt hurt us.

That would be another 30k/40k on top of the 50k.

I know but the draw of Bradford would bring the Featherstone supporters out in force meaning a gate of 2,000 would then give them around £30k if they we're to charge £13/£14 to get in.

| Having read the whole of this thread, the £150,000 mentioned was surely the amount that Cas paid Fev for Steadman back in the day. Someone has been sidetracked.

Er, no Mick.
2,000 @ 13 - VAT = £21.7k
Less additional stewarding and other variable costs, plus any incremental food/drink income accruing to the club not to third parties.
Wasn't exactly the world's biggest gate when we played them in the CC at their place a few years ago.

| A cracking player. We've got a good one there, he was absolutely outstanding for Featherstone last year and there's no reason to think he won't make the grade in Super League.
Mr Potter to be congratulated for sorting out our halves. We're suddenly looking much stronger.

Good skill set no real pace. Not quick enough for sl in my opinion that's why he was never gonna make it at Leeds.

Apart from hardacker can run backwards quicker than Briggs can run forwards.

| Just read the report about Briggs signing up and the way Potter is talking he rates him very highly and is going to stick him straight in at 6!
It's a great signing and looking forward to seeing him in a bulls shirt!!

And I've seen him enough over the past couple of seasons in the Championship to be able to form my own opinions, cheers.
Quickness is different to straight-line pace, which is what you might be referring to, and is a more useful attribute in central positions. Briggs may not be as fast as a winger but he's definitely quick.

| pretty predictable a leeds fan trying to put a downer on a player who they released. Dont you know they never ever let any slip through the net . Briggs failed to break through to leeds first time when danny and burrows were at their peak. wonder how he'd have gone if he was trying to break into 1st team this year?. Theres also the possibility that he's actually continued to develop since leaving leeds, another possiblity they refuse to acknowledge as they obviously have the greatest youth setup up ever.
I'm very happy with signing. always looked a handful at fev and should fit in well with a young hungry team.

Yeah, I must admit, I was amazed to hear it
Usually, the fans of the club a player is currently leaving also start to say things like "he's not all that anyway" and "he was always overrated". In this case, bizarrely, they haven't. The Fev fans seems to have nothing but good things to say about him, despite the fact he's just left their club. That says more to me.
Personally I always thought he looked a quality player in the Championship and said last year that the best two players in that division were Shad Royston and Kyle Briggs, so the fact we ended up signing both of them is superb to me. But we don't want to get too carried away as it is a big step up from Championship to Super League and even those who will manage it, may take a little time to get used to the different level.
Only one way to judge him properly and it's not in the next couple of months imo.

agree with that it wasnt unitl his last couple of games that we really started to see orford at his best and he was much more experienced than briggs so I'm not expecting big things staright away. It will take till mid season at least for him to really settle. Got to help though having a decent half alongside him to take some off pressure of which we didnt have last year.
