I've gotta ask the question now. After this call and your one on another thread that Kearney is a better 6 than Pryce.
What are you basing this on?
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for giving him time to settle in and everything, but I really haven't seen anything yet to suggest the sort of praise you seem to aim his way and I genuinely was wondering why?

Whitehead should be in the team in front of Worrincy every week. He did 10 times the work of a so called established first teamer.

His effort is why I put him third today, he was always chasing back, always getting back in the defensive line asap and you could tell by how he was playing that he wanted to win it.
I am backing Kearney to be a better 6 than Pryce from what I saw of him in the NRL in 2008 - even at full back-, although I do admit Pryce was much better today.

| Can't fault Halleys effort today and I know the heavy ground doesn't help him, but has he beat a man on a kick return in the last two games? I might have missed it if he has.

He did indeed. I didn't see Worrincy make a carry for the first 15 minutes he was on.
Whitehead and Donno should both be in.
Anybody know why Donno wasnt?

Should be playing both and leaving the useless sack out. Saints' second try today was once again due to a large gap left by "Worrlord" flying out of the line.
While Worrincy obviously isn't the only one playing badly at the moment, he is quite obviously the worst of our forwards. How he still gets in the team is beyond me.

Possibly, but I hope not. Both have put better efforts in than Worrincy in 1 game compared to 2 and that would be rewarding MW mediocrity if he continues to do so.

Agree with both of you, the younger lads obvously have the passion and effort, put them on the pitch and they'll do a better job than that useless waste of space.
I don't understand why Worrincy doesn't make more metres when running the ball in, he's heavier than Hall ffs.

He's massive, but lacks heart and commitment. A man of his size and athletic ability should really be hurting opponents.

This is also true, but a man of his physical stature should be able to make some ground and hurt some people regardless of those attributes that you say and I agree entriley with, being missing.

| Worrincy is a nice lad and I hate to criticise but how on earth his he warranting his selection. He simply isn't a super league player and at this juncture his only purpose is holding back our young prospects that we have at the club. Providing Donaldson was fit today his non selection is a complete disgrace and for that alone Macca needs to question himself.

He hasn't and apart from catching the ball (someting Platt failed to do now and again) he did nothing of any merit. He's nowhere near as good as people like to make out - he's average for the most part, but has pace, which made him a novelty two years ago. Now we have pace and mobility but lack size, aggression, a game plan, an understanding of how to control the ruck and an ability to move forward to meet the opposition when defending. None of that will change until we get a new coach - unfortunately GPS won't tell him why we lost today.

I disagree, he is a player who puts 110% in every game.
He stood up today, when nobody was willing to kick on the last, or even chase the kick. Up he stepped, kicked the ball from the twenty after 3 other players faffed around with it, turned the winger around and darted to the other end of the field to make the tackle.

I totally agree with that. He's fast, and remember he's only played half a season at full-back, his kick returns will get better and hopeully he'll become more evasive.
After today, Halley is one of the ones you can't fault, he was tackling well above his weight, i don't think he made any errors and he put more effort in than every player apart from Scrutes.

| Am I the only one who thinks Halley is utterly lightweight at fullback. Yes he puts in the effort, but his defence is completely patchy, especially one on one when he's the last man standing. In those situations I always expect him to come off second best and in that respect he isn't much better than Platt. I'd keep him in the team though, for sure, but you look at Kearney who's natural fullback instincts were coming though loud and clear today on more than one occasion (noteably the try-saving ankle tap - a real full back's knock IMHO) and wonder why? I know there is then the problem of who to play at 6, but it's all food for thought
