It would normally be nobody's business whether you went to games or not; you don't have to go to games (any or every) to be a [isupporter[/i and to hold whatever opinion you want, and to express that opinion - within reason. However, when "supporter" has morphed into what you have become - with your incessant negative barrage against pretty well everything to do with the club, its coaching staff and most of its players - while still calling yourself a supporter - then people would at least expect you to be as well informed as you could be?

And I'm not sure how most observers would believe a keyboard warrior from afar can be sufficiently-well informed to be able to express such seemingly immovable and entrenched opinions with sufficient credibility.

af is in a similar situation, as you keep pointing out now you are getting upset at perceived difference in treatment (although I think you'll find he is nevertheless better informed than you are, but that's not central to the issue). The difference is in the way that af expresses his opinions, and how (unless driven to it by extreme frustration) he does not try to ram them down everyone's throats at every available opportunity.

There comes a point where constructive criticism, and even criticism borne out of frustration (and God knows we can all relate to that, and may well feel more of the same by the end of the weekend!) crosses a line and becomes an obsession; when it becomes an end in itself. That is where it seems to me that you are at now

And that is why I urge you to think about why you started posting on here - it was because you were a [isupporter[/i, right? Its very unhealthy if all the supporters toe the club line; but if you are going to constantly criticise everything without ever allowing that there may be reasons for why things are as they are, then that's surely equally unhealthy?

Go back through my posts and you'll see I tend to venture opinions, ask others what they thought, question what they say when it doesn't seem to tally with what I know or what I've heard from other people who have gone to the game - my dad, my brother, my uncle, folk on here, journos.

You don't need to have been at the Battle of Hastings to have an opinion on it. Historians would love to be able to interview an eye-witness, yet they may well already have a better idea of why Harold lost than any poor sod on the scene despite living a thousand years hence. If however all they had to say was 'He lost, he was useless, end of. Fact', they wouldn't be very good historians.

I think the difference between you and I is that while my view - SM is not perfect but probably our best option - is one that is compatible with all aspects of how the Bulls' perform, creditworthy or not, you seem to have headed to an extreme where you feel comfortable stating this...

"Assumed suspects"? Don't flatter yourself. In fact, I am referring to people who either rarely post on here now (you and Asim and the Negative Tendency generally being the principal reason) or who are mere readers and don't ever post.

One of those people - who sits very near to me - has indicated he would have serious difficulty resisting the urge to deck you if he ever met you. Most of the others, whilst angry with your attitude, just think its sad how someone can let their obsession with being the big man and always right turn them into what you appear to have become.

Sorry Adey but I thinks that's a little unfair and just basing that on poster's you know. I know for a fact that their is 4 posters who hardly ever post mainly because of the attitude of 5 well known posters who definitely can't be classed at the NT gang.

Fair call, although I was responding to personal comments aimed at me. Although in fairness I don't see or talk regularly to any posters from the NT, so I really can only go on those I do know. I DO bump into people I know who are of that persuasion, and I respect their views, but I don't know whether they post on here or read on here - the latter at least must be probable.

But I think what you say leads to an important point - and its one that someone else alluded to on another thread earlier. What I think we have seen is a polarising of opinion on here of those who are concerned for and about the club - and in the main who are passionate supporters (even if they don't think they are...

). This inevitably pushes people to take more extreme positions than they otherwise might - ME, FA, af being good examples - and so increases the likelihood of group A getting right up the noses of group B. And it becomes increasingly hard to sit in the middle in group C! If that makes sense?

I guess that's sort of inevitable when people get frustrated with what they see as below-expectations performance on the park. The situation is not helped by the Punisher-types, whose object in life seems to be to sow discord and dissent wherever they tread and exacerbate the polarisation. After all, its much easier to attack a house divided?

Given that we are nearly all Bulls fans - one or two have come out of the closet and admitted they never were - then surely, in what are not the easiest of times for the club, we need to stand together a bit more? And if that means those at each of the poles cutting those at the other a little more slack, and reigning back on trying to grind the other down, that would be a sensible thing?

Sad news, but did no-one tell them of the OTT attention seeking procedure they were supposed to follow?
